I have the same issues too! I've tried to repair the games many times but the matters still occurs. I have no custom modes installed, therefore it must not be the cause as well.

I have found that I'm able to create and play a new save, but can't access my original save without it freezing. This may be a temporary solution if you just want to play, but see if making a new save allows you to play the game without freezing!
