Definitely a CPU lockup, trying to get some stacktraces, but information on the web is just useless.

The game is still hard-locked at this point, and the only thing to do is to kill the game.

Just remove the "XML" from the lastCrash report in TextEdit then attach it. The numbers in the file name are also meaningful.
Please can you provide more information about your Mac. Instructions on how to do so and what to provide here - http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612396/highlight/true#M162
Did you try with a new Sims 4 folder? Trying to narrow down the exact cause and if it is model specific.

Macbook pro 15, 2018.
2.2Ghz 6-core i7
16gb of ram
Radeon pro 555X 4Gb
I believe we tried clearing out that folder yes.
Would there be some more engineering-centric help just than poking around and hoping for the best that EA could provide?
I told my daughter to call me if she encounters the problem again (but she's not definitely playing everyday :-)) so that I can try to run "spindump" on the sim4 pid, since there is nothing showing up in the Console.app.

The same happens on the 16" MBPs https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/WORKAROUND-Problems-playing-Sims-4-on-the-16-quot-MacBook-Pro/m-p/8750583#M27203
Disabling automatic graphics switching seems to help those users (see solution on page 1 in the link) but they seem to have to download gfxCardStatus to make the switch permanent as the Mac is trying to switch back to the Intel chip.
The same issue is also on the current line up of 27" iMacs https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/Sims-4-keeps-crashing-on-2020-iMac-27/td-p/9522077
