Want to uninstall everything besides my households

basically i’ve redownloaded a bunch of mods because i hadn’t played for a long time, and now some of them are not working. i seem to be having a problem that nobody else on this earth has had before. i’ve searched high and low for a solution and i just want my game to completely reset. i want to reinstall and uninstall but have a whole new sims 4 folder, as i’ve moved things around and don’t know what im doing anymore lol. i just want my households saved? is there a way to do this?

  • @kaylajoan  The Sims 4 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts stores user data: saves, mods, households, etc.  Saves are in the saves folder, and saved households and builds (what you see in the in-game Library) are in Tray.  So you could set aside the Tray folder, and the saves folder if you're actually saying you want your saves preserved, and then delete the rest of this Sims 4 folder.  Start the game once to generate a new folder, then move the contents of Tray and possibly saves to the new folder.

@puzzlezaddict do I delete the sims4 folder from my iCloud backup as well? I'm not very sims tech savvy lol so I'm afraid I'm going to delete something I'm not supposed to and lose all my saved games. I took the tray and save files out and deleted the sims 4 from my documents, and I started the game but a new sims 4 folder did not pop up.

Are you using iCloud as a backup or are you using it to store and sync the Desktop and Documents folder? They are not one and the same thing.

Rename the Sims 4 folder in the Documents > Electronic Arts folder. What happens when you launch the game.
