Why is sims 4 not opening?
I have had sims 4 for over a year now with no problems. Since around boxing day (of 2017) I am no longer able to open the game. I can open Origin and go to Sims 4, but when I click play the game says...
I use a Macbook Pro by the way... not PC
Hi @ejane223
1: Do you use any Mods or CC? 2: If so have you checked them all for updates and/or tried removing them all yet? 3: Have you bought any new Stuff or Expansion Packs lately?
Hi @ejane223
-hmm 'repair' (game) and seems you've done that... Cats and Dogs takes up a lot more space and many people have come across similar problems to you...
It could also be your graphics card or operating system memory, as the Cats and Dogs expansion pack has 'upped the computer requirements' quite a bit..?
RAM: At least 4 GB RAM
HARD DRIVE: At least 3 GB of free space (15 GB if installing with The Sims™ 4 + Cats and Dogs) with at least 1 GB additional space for cc or saved games
You'll find more details on requirements here at the Help - EA page. (to be absolutely certain)
If you're still having problems, let me know. (It could also mean checking into your graphics card capabilities).
As this issue has been reported also by EA Mai as being the main cause ie: game crashes, etc.. more at her post also.
Excerpt from EA from the prior link I posted "If you’d like to try an automatic scan of your computer to see if it can run The Sims 4, visit the System Requirements Lab site and run their Can You RUN it tool for The Sims 4. EA does not own or operate System Requirements Lab's Can You RUN It page, nor can we make any changes to their page or system. Any use of the site and tools is at your own risk".
Excerpt from EA Mai's post: HARD DRIVE: At least 3 GB of free space (15 GB if installing with The Sims™ 4) with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content and saved games - CPU: 1.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, AMD Athlon 64 Dual-Core 4000+ or equivalent (For computers using built-in graphics chipsets, the game requires 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.0 GHz AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-62 or equivalent) < yours shows 1.8 GHz (8 CPUs), ~ 2.0GHz so; not sure there..
Hope this helps,
Sasha
nb: if it does look like the above, another quick fix may be to disable some of the other packs you own.. (to give it more space..)if you need to know how, let me know..
Hello,
So from what I can see (I'm not very good with computers)..
I have a macbook pro version 10.11, the processor is Intel Core i5, the graphics are Intel Iris Graphics 6100, on my memory I have 8GB, and on my hard drive I have 40 GB free...
Do these meet the requirements you listed above?
