Annoying freezing on maps, changing outfits, CAS, etc.

Before the updates for the new expansion started, the game was running great for me. Since the first update, the Del Sol Valley map and some others started to freeze slightly when I hovered over the terrain, also when changing my Sim's outfit, it loads the outfits very slowly, before it was the second one, and in CAS, in tattoos it presents the same freezes, is there a solution? because it is being very annoying that it crashes all the time.

I remembered that in the lasso process I lowered everything to the EABackgroundService, I don't know if that's it, I returned the original values and nothing, and I also did what you told me and the maps continue to freeze and it takes a long time to load the outfits, now also every time the sim changes mood it freezes for like 5 seconds.  By the way, I also tried putting the game on high priority and nothing.

  • TM95Gerardo  I'm trying to help here, and I'm telling you what I see.  So even if you're convinced, please try this very quick and easy test so that we can cross Parsec off the list.  Then try the clean boot, and of course you can open Steam too, but nothing else.

I have the game on Steam, and I repeat, I don't think Parsec is the problem since in 2024 the game was running at 10 until the expansion update.

  • TM95Gerardo  Software can easily start conflicting after the fact, so please try disabling Parsec.

If that doesn't help, please try playing in a clean boot:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows-da2f9573-6eec-00ad-2f8a-a97a1807f3dd

The one service to leave enabled is the EABackgroundService, which the EA App needs in order to run.  Disable the rest as described.

When you reboot your computer, go through the Task Manager's background processes list shutting down any service that doesn't absolutely need to be running, for example anything from MSI Afterburner to RGB software might still be enabled.  If you accidentally kill a critical process and it doesn't restart on its own, just reboot your computer again.

Don't open anything other than Sims 4 and the EA App while testing, not even a browser window.

If this helps, you can selectively reenable services until you find the culprit, then either leave that disabled or (if it belongs to an app you want to keep using) let me know what it is so we can try to fix the underlying issue.

If the clean boot doesn't make any difference, please try again, except with your computer offline.  You can sign into the EA App and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before pressing Play.

I move the cursor as usual, and that lag always occurs. It also happens in other maps, but not in some. I don't think Parsec is the problem since I've had it since last year. Also, when changing outfits, it takes too long to load the outfits. Also, when the Sim changes outfits, it hangs for like 5 seconds to appear with the new outfit.

Before the first update for the new expansion I didn't have these problems.

  • TM95Gerardo  Sorry for the late reply; I've been away from the forums for a while.  Does this happen if you move your cursor more slowly over the map, or wait a couple of seconds before moving it from one household to another?  I'm wondering if the game is simply struggling to retrieve all that info in such quick succession.  It would also be interesting to know whether it happened in other worlds in this save, or in DSV in an entirely new save.

Your dxdiag doesn't show any obvious reason for the issue, but it's worth shutting down Parsec (in the Task Manager, including anything in background processes) before trying to play.
