Bugs... Bugs everywhere !!

Hello ! I need help, there are so many bugs, it's frustrating ! I play without CC, I removed the very few mods I have, deleted cache files, emptied app cache, and repaired the game, NOTHING works !!!

  1. I need to restart the game at least 4 or 5 times because only the base game appear (no extensions available, like "you need these add-on to play").
  2. The game keeps lagging, like it's stuttering.
  3. My Sims wait for a long time before doing something.
  4. Impossible to drag dishes to the kitchen sink, nor to the trash can. Same for dirt.
  5. My Sims is currently living in a dormitory, and when it's time for class the option "go to class" doesn't appear so she just stand for HOURS in front of the building (sometimes she goes in at the end of the day). She never stop doing her homework (it stays at 75%), same with the whiteboard (she won't be able to validate her class). I haven't tried to make my Sims write a dissertation yet.
  6. The game is on pause, but a bubble appear asking if my Sims will skip class or not. Now my Sims is still in front of the building but supposedly already in class !?

That's a lot of bugs for playing just a moment...

  • I forgot about another bug : during winter, all the Sims are constantly gliding on snow, but inside the shop !

  • Tashigi_nee-sama  Some of these are known issues, for example:

Drag No Longer Working for several objects | EA Forums - 12296987

The prompt about skipping sounds like this:

    Adults/teens/children at work/school on reload trying to skip work/school | EA Forums - 12300531

For the DLC not appearing, try clearing the EA App's cache and repairing the game, in that order.

I can try to help with the tech issues, but I don't deal with in-game issues like objects not working or a sim not be able to go to school or work.  Game issues should be posted in the Gameplay forum, and bug reports in the Bugs forum.

If you'd like help with any technical issues, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

  • Hi puzzlezaddict  thank you for your answer ! I'm not from an english speaking country, so I may have some translation issues...

So, as I tried to explain in my first message, before playing, I delete package files in the Sims 4 folder (every cache files), then I clear the EA app's cache and I even tried to repair the game. Yes, I did it in that order, but nothing worked, my game keeps lagging.

There is my dxdiag, if you see what's the problem, could you explain to me ? I'm not a geek... 😅

  • Tashigi_nee-sama  I don't see anything in your dxdiag that is clearly a problem.  There are a few errors that might be a problem, but only if you're having technical issues that are related to these errors.

The tech/gameplay/bug distinction is important here because it determines what kind of help you need.  I don't want to try to solve a technical issue that doesn't exist—that would waste my time and yours.  All dxdiags have errors in them, and many of these errors mean nothing in practical terms, in that they don't affect your ability to use your computer.  So it's not helpful for me to see an error that might mean nothing and try to fix it unless you definitely have a technical issue.

The bug reports I linked cannot be solved; EA has to fix them.  Gameplay issues are those that involve the game not doing what you want it to: sims getting stuck, not listening to commands, options missing, that kind of thing.  These aren't computer issues, so troubleshooting your computer won't help either.

So to see how much of what you've described is a tech issue, please start a new save with a fresh sim, living on a default EA lot (nothing from the Gallery or your own library).  Let me know whether you see any stutter or lag or the sim takes a long time to respond.  These are the only potential tech issues I see in your original post.  For the rest, please post in the existing bug threads or in new threads in the Gameplay forum.
