Can't redeem codes

Hi,

I've bought some expansion packs for Sims 4 and tried to redeem the codes, but it doesn't work in the EA App or on the EA website. It always says it's invalid or there was a problem. Even though I can see on the website that it's the right game after first adding the code. 

Is there any bug right now? None of my 4 codes works.

  • To make sure this isn't a caching issue, as in, the codes worked but you can't see them, please run the EA App Recovery tool:

    If that doesn't help, where did you buy the packs?  It's possible you received bad codes, which is not uncommon with third-party sellers.  The only way to find out is to contact EA customer support and ask that someone check the codes for you.

    I would strongly recommend using live chat rather than email.  If you don't see the option, choose a slightly different category of issue.

      I've tried to solve it with the chat but they couldn't help me. 

  • Setubalenses  This is the kind of issue that needs to be checked by EA customer support.  I would strongly recommend a live chat rather than email, so you can explain  and test in real time.  If you don't see the option, try a slightly different category of issue.  Alternately, you can use the website without signing in.  Most of the categories that allow you to proceed without an active login also offer the live chat option.

    Support may be limited or closed for the next couple of days due to the holiday, but it's usually back online sometime on the 26th.

      Hey, my problem is not to get into the game, but actually redeeming the codes. 2 of them randomly worked on the website now after multiple tries. But the rest is not working. They don't even show the pack first anymore after sending the redeem code. It now just says the code is invalid. I believe something is wrong with their code redemption system. I even bought more packs to see if it is an issue on my side. but even the other ones don't work. All of them show the same issue, except the 2 which randomly worked now from the original 4.

        Strangely I posted to someone else who couldn't find their downloads and it ended up on your thread.  😲Hopefully  you found an answer.

    So I've found a solution which worked, which leads to the bug of the redeem tool, either in EA App and EA Website. 
    A friend of mine tried to redeem the codes and all of them worked fine for him. For me it always showed invalid. After he entered them, they somehow got unlocked again for me and I could redeem them in my account. I don't know if there is any bug in my account or the redeem tool, but it's pretty annoying that I can't redeem anything myself.

      I'm having this same issue, now my codes are saying invalid entirely after being accepted before.  I've tried everything from clearing my cache, deleting sims redownloading, deleting ea, trying on the website trying on the app. now I've contacted EA and been told to wait 24 hours..

        A code can only be redeemed once. As you can see it succeeded so just download the pack on your account.

      It is not possible to redeem a code twice. Once it is redeemed it is tied to the current account and can not be changed.

    Has anyone found a solution to this? I'm losing my mind trying to figure it out. I've already contacted three different advisors, but the issue persists, and it's been driving me crazy. From the looks of it, this seems to be a very uncommon problem.

    It only seems to happen with a specific account. I've tried using different accounts, and everything works as expected—showing the game content and the usual message, "code has been redeemed," instead of "product is not valid."

    I've also tried accessing it on a different network and a different computer, but I still get the same error message. This makes it clear that the issue is definitely related to the account. However, support has already confirmed that there are no restrictions or issues with my account.

    I already tried clearing the app cache, repairing the game, and entering the codes from the website which worked at first but now it shows the same error.

    This has been going on for a few days now, and I’m desperate to get it working again.

    If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know. I would be forever grateful!

     

  • yelMEJlow  To be clear, are you trying new codes, ones you've never used before, on the account where they don't work?  A used code wouldn't be accepted again, on the same account or any other.  And did you ever buy or register the same pack(s) on this account, either in EA or through Steam or Epic?  I'm wondering whether an existing copy of a pack, still valid or not, is blocking your ability to register a new one.

  • I'm having this same problem!! Since yesterday my EA App and EA's Redeem Code website haven't been working, all the codes are treated as invalid. I know you can't redeem a code twice, but naturally when I put these codes I would get a pop-up saying which pack the code is and then it would tell me that the code has already been redeemed, but lately it just tells me that the code is invalid, which doesn't happen in other EA accounts I've tested, it's a problem with my account, a problem with code recognition.

  • Thank you very much for the tips!! I waited until the 26th and was going to follow the steps, but it seems that after several days, in a Christmas miracle, my account returned to normal on its own 🥳🥳

    So I hope these messages help other simmers who may have this problem in the future!! If it doesn't return to normal on its own in a few days, it is advisable to follow these steps. But in general there's no need to worry, just to wait 😉👍
