EA App download speed is wrong - can I switch to Steam?

Can someone explain to me why my Sims 4 is updating at 4 MB/s on the EA App, but when I hover over it the numbers shows 28 Mbps? Both numbers are still very low in comparison to what my download speed is on other systems, like Steam, where I am getting 200-300 Mbps.

I was actually going to invest in getting some packs with the current sale, but I am definitely not going to if it's updating this slowly

Is there a way I could swap my library + games owned to steam where I am able to download faster?

Screenshot below for reference.

As for why EA App download speeds are so much slower than many users' connections, it was and remains a mystery.  I've had the same thing happen, although not as often now that I try to install whole games, at least, during low-traffic times.

You could install the Sims 4 base game through Steam if you want, but you'd need to uninstall the EA App version of the game first, and you'd still need to download all your DLC through the EA App since you own it there.  The DLC will work with a Steam install, but there's no way to add it to your Steam library.

That is disappointing to hear about the EA App but I appreciate your response
