Freezing/crashing

Hello, this is my first post here so I apologize if I do anything wrong.

My game has been crashing (particularly in build-mode but also outside of it) and/or freezing since I downloaded the nursery kit last year. I use some basic mods (primarily **bleep**), but even turning them off doesn't seem to help at this point. They've been inactive/turned off in game for months. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game entirely, and this also didn't help. I use an NVIDIA driver and always have, and recently installed a different, earlier version in an attempt to fix my issue. It did not.  I have searched through the sims 4 discord as well as various forums, EA-run and otherwise, and none of the solutions offered have helped. I have tried everything I've been able to understand.

At this point, I can play maybe 5 minutes if I'm lucky. It's been about a year now that this has been happening. I keep up with updates, and repair the game/packs regularly. I'm very frustrated because I've spent a lot of money on this game, and I've had it since it came out. I got the first pets pack on disc I've been playing for so long. I don't know what to do, and I'd really appreciate some help/suggestions on how to fix my game.

Thank you.

    Hi again,

I did what you suggested here, and deleted all mods entirely from my computer just in case. I believe the driver I reverted to was July 22, as it was the one available.

Below are the diaxdag and the reliability monitor for this specific crash. If it provides no additional information, I'll try your second suggestion and attempt running on the intel gpu. I'm aware that nvidia, at least since leaning more heavily into gen.ai, has been having a lot of issues, so hopefully, maybe, running on intel will be the solution.  Just let me know what you think is the next best move.

Thank you so much, again and again :)

You're wonderful. I really appreciate you sticking with me through all of this, and happy holidays :)

  • klilyona  The LiveKernelEvent 141 error is the same one we've been seeing, and now that you've tried a few different drivers, it's time to test the iGPU instead.

Test the Intel GPU or the current one? If you mean the current one (the NVIDIA), how should i go about doing that? If you mean the Intel GPU, disregard my second question lol

  • klilyona  I mean test the game running on the Intel iGPU only, as I described earlier:

Open Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics settings, click Browse, find TS4_x64 on the list, and choose the power-saving option. Then right-click the desktop, choose the Nvidia Control Panel, click Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings, find TS4_x64, and choose the integrated graphics processor. Both these settings matter at least some of the time.

The idea is to see whether the game works fine with the Nvidia GPU out of the picture, which would confirm, at least as far as we can do here, that the Nvidia GPU is the issue.
