Game freezes the moment it opens?

My laptop, in the past, has always been capable of opening and playing The Sims, with only minor issues.

However, after taking a break playing, I've opened it again only to find that the moment the game launches, it freezes. It's not unresponsive though; I can click something, exit the window, and then find that the change has taken place- but it's still frozen. I can only interact with things one frame per exit-then-enter-window.

I'm included my dxdiag notes, hopefully that has extra info? But I honestly have no idea what to do. I've already uninstalled then reinstalled the game, as well as removed all my mods from the mod folder, but nothing changed. I also play from the EA app instead of Steam if that changes anything.
