Game won't load

chiggeuk​  I answered you elsewhere just now, but let's stay here instead since the other thread is a bit of a collection of various issues.  Please remove your saves folder from Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and see whether it helps.

Okay so when I removed my saves folder, it fully loaded to the main menu and didn't crash. What does this mean about my save folder?

chiggeuk​  That means that at least one of your saves is corrupt, but whether that's fixable or not is unclear.  Please make sure you have a new save available in-game, and move your old saves back to the saves folder.  If you get a notification about duplicate files, skip that file and rename it so it doesn't share a number with any other save.  The number in the save name needs to be eight digits long and contain only the digits 0 to 9 and a to f.

If the game crashes again before you get to the Main Menu, try adding back the mods and custom content you were previously using with your old saves, updated versions where necessary.

By the way, there's a master bug report for this issue, and EA_Cade has asked for saves here:

It looks like custom tattoos may be the culprit at least some of the time.

Aw dang, I really hope it’s salvageable. Thank you. But I have a question, when renaming the file, I rename the file of the save that’s already in the new saves folder? Or do I rename the one in the old saves folder?

Oh also, it won’t let me into any household. It tells me the relaunch the game. Even after making a new save file, what does this mean? Sorry for all the questions 

chiggeuk​  If you move your old saves back and get a notification that a file already exists with X name, you skip that file and rename one of the two that conflict.  It technically doesn't matter which one, but I would rename the one you're moving back (not the one that's already in the saves folder) in case you accidentally get the name wrong.  It's more important that the new save have the correct name.

Please post a screenshot of the error you see when you try to load a household.  And let me know whether this is with a new save or an older one.  I'm not sure whether you're saying the new save produces this error, or you're now able to try to load an old save but see the error when you choose a household.

Hi, I'm encountering the exact same issue. I've followed your instructions & just moved the old saves back. Now in the starting menu, it shows my old saves, as well as the new save. When I try to load one of my old saves, this is when it now crashes. No error pops up, the app just closes after pressing load. When I click load on the new save, it successfully loads. Is there a way to repair my old saves or is this bad news for me. Been playing through the same legacy in my old saves for about 9 years so I'm willing to try any of your troubleshooting idea's. 

puzzlezaddict​ Okay so there's a problem. In my new save, I put all my old saves back and all of them worked except the most recent one I had played with before I updated my game. Even after removing my mods that certain save only crashed, I couldn't even get to the manage household screen. Whenever I clicked play on that save, it crashed and brought me back to the EA app. Before it used to work, like it would allow me to enter the save I just couldn't open a household, but now, I can't even open that save game. It's not looking good.
