meg9h Please test with no mods or custom content, if you use any at all. You don't need to save your progress. If your main save still crashes, test a new one, still with no mods or cc.
If that doesn't help, please provide a dxdiag. Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop. From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

Hi!
I've been facing this issue for a while now. I have been trying to play TS4 and it's kind of random, however, normally around 5 mins after gameplay, my computer starts sounding really loud, and then it crashes my entire computer.
I do play with mods - It can happen with and without mods.
Please can someone help? I've already uninstalled and reinstalled TS4 recently and it is still not working. I've attached my DxDiag too.
Thank you!

puzzlezaddict Hi! I'm sorry I have just seen this and am still facing the same issue. Please find attached my DxDiag! Thank you!!
meg9h I apologize for the late reply. Your dxdiag lists some system-related errors, so please start with a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files:
- Hit Windows key-X
- Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
- Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
- The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
- After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
- Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
- Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
- Post the message you receive here
Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates. If any install, restart again afterwards. For the Sims 4 issue itself, have you tried playing a new save in a clean user folder? There are other files aside from mods and cc that could trigger an issue. So please test this, if you haven't already. Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.
If you get another crash, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor. Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day. Today is on the right.
Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent Sims 4 crash. If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here. If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.

Hi puzzlezaddict Thank you so much for getting abck in touch.
I did the first few steps and after running “sfc /scannow”, it produced this message:
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.
For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at
windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline
repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.

Also, puzzlezaddict I'm not sure if it's worth noting, but I have had Windows Updates that are failing for some reason, I've had this issue for a while.
meg9h Sometimes a Windows update can fail and work later. Is that what's happening to you, or are the updates never installing at all? If it's the latter, is the problem cleared up now that sfc has done its job?
I would also like to know how the game runs after you've run DISM and sfc.
