sims 4 not loading up

I haven't played in some time, and a few weeks ago tried logging in to play my game and it wouldn't load. so, I started trying everything to get it to load, but here is what's happening and what I have done.

originally it wouldn't even load, we then updated the game and the computer completely. then it started to try to load but just flashed screens black and white then stopped. so, we then uninstalled the game and reinstalled the game. Once we did this it went to the spring sale, or ad page. Then it would freeze and not do anything. I have now, completely disabled all of my mods and cleared cache on EA app and the game itself. The same is not flashing black and white but once I get to the ad page it freezes and won't let me go any further. anyone have any ideas? - purchased through steam, my husbands to be exact but I use his on my laptop and he uses his on his PC- this has always worked as long as we don't play at the same time. I cannot get my own steam since I will lose all my packs.

I don't believe that this thread is the same issue I am having, the majority of the users on this thread is at least getting the ad screen which I am not getting, I am getting a white screen only and it doesn't even get me to the main menu or the ad.

  • arrica314  Then please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.

If that doesn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
