Sims 4 Stuck on loading screen.

Hey Sims Gamers,

I played Sims 3 back when it was on disc drive, never had any issues with it. Recently I have started playing Sims 4 on the PC through Steam, I have had nothing but issues when playing. Before I explain the issues I will mention that I am not tech savvy and I DO NOT own any MODS or CC.

Since downloading the game, my game has crashed when saving a CAS. My partner fixed that issue.
Now my issue is that it is stuck on loading screen for hours on end when selecting a family to play, unable to play the game at all. I tried searching it up, it told me to delete my MODS and CC, which I do not have.
I then tried a few other options which also did not work. I moved the EA document to desktop and back to documents again, it now works but I have now unfortunately lost my 77 hours worth of progress in the game and everything has been deleted. I may add that i have no option to repair game.

Is there anything I can do to get my progress back?

Is there anything I can do in the future to fix my game if I do not have MODS or CC?

Thankyou in advance!

Paige :)

  • tarnjapaige3  Your saves were in the folder you moved, and they should still be intact.  It sounds like you may have put the folder back in the wrong location though, for example maybe you put the old Electronic Arts folder inside a new Electronic Arts folder.  Point is, look for your saves in the folder you restored.  Then make sure they're in the folder the game is reading:

The file paths must match exactly up to "The Sims 4."

Separately, it sounds like one of your saves may be corrupted, and that's why you couldn't load the game.  For any save that won't load, try using Load Game rather than Resume and choosing a different household to play with.  Let me know how it goes.
