Sims 4 wont load Steam DLCs

A day before the "Pack Selection" update I had issues with loading my EA DLCs. I fixed that issue by uninstalling and redowloading both EA and my DLC. After that everything was working fine. On the day of the update, however, I loaded back in to find that my Steam DLCs were now not working. I validated the files three times, reloaded multiple times and still no DLC.

On the Pack Selection menu It shows what packs i own and what I dont own, yet I am unable to select the DLC to load into the game (see screenshots below.) When opening "properties" and selecting "DLC" in Steam, it shows me the exact packs I own. I redownloaded them by unselecting and reselecting and upon load-in theres still no sign of my bought DLCs. Yet my EA bought DLCs show up.  This issue is frustrating especially since i have never had any issues with The Sims up until the recent updates in August and now.

  • Steam now wont let me redownload the sims. Unrelated to EA itself, but it says Content Files Locked upon reinstalling

  • Lgndofthestar  Do you have any other Steam games installed?  If not, please uninstall and reinstall Steam.  Doing so would remove installed Steam games, at least if you haven't changed the location of the game library, so don't do this if reinstalling anything would be a burden.

If that doesn't help, or you don't want to have to reinstall other games, try changing the location of your Steam game library and downloading Sims 4 to that location.  Here's how:

Then try again to install Sims 4.

Once this is sorted out, you'll want to uninstall the EA App version of Sims 4, then reinstall only the packs you own in the EA App, not another copy of the base game.  You should be able to do this under Sims 4 > Manage > Manage add-ons.
