Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.109.207.1020 DX11
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Discover University, cats&dogs, seasons, island living, growing together, get to work, city living, romantic garden stuff, holiday celebration pack, dine out, desert luxe kit, blooming room kit, backyard stuff.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? The bug starts after the loading screen when you choose your game.
What happens when the bug occurs? It’s totally broken, sometimes even the screen stays blue, but sometimes it loads. I can’t zoom in or out. Al the notifications and when you choose interactions stay stuck in the screen. Literally can’t do anything. Can go to manage worlds and choose a lot, but can’t edit because screen stays blue.
What do you expect to see? Literally the game working, can’t do anything right now.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. The update on 18/9

after the update on 18/9/2024, the game doesn’t work anymore. Can’t do anything. Did all the recommended repairs. Have tried removing mods, repaired multiple times, even uninstalled the game and installed it again, removed localthumbcache. Now just did the new update (1/10) but still doesn’t work. Game is totally unplayable.

    Hi! If you mean literally changing the sims 4 name from the folder I did, and it seemed to work a little, until I went to change the lot. Now it’s frozen on this again, I can slide the slider but it doesn’t change anything.

    No, playing the sims with the EA app is also literally the only thing I use the laptop for.. It always worked fine (a little laggy) until this update.

    @esnika Going to move this to the tech forum for better troubleshooting help.

    Could you post your Computer's DxDiag?

    - Press Windows-Key + R
    - Type: DxDiag
    - Click on Save all Information.
    - Attach the Text File to your post

    @esnika 

    Your laptop only barely meets minimum requirements of the game. Make sure graphics is set to low and that laptop mode is enabled. You also need to run Windows Update to get the correct graphics driver.

    @esnika  Please install the newest graphics driver Acer provides for your laptop.  You can find it here:

    https://www.acer.com/us-en/support/product-support/SF114-32/downloads

    It's dated February 2021, so it may or may not be compatible with Sims 4, but it's easy to update from here.  And it's usually best to try the manufacturer-provided driver first, then update if necessary, rather than the other way around.

    Restart your computer after installing the driver and before trying to play.

    Yeah it’s on low graphics and laptop mode. I can’t download from the site you sent but maybe I picked the wrong download? I should probably just buy a better laptop lol

    @esnika  The site I linked is for your model of laptop, so it should work.  Having said that, yes, this laptop is always going to struggle with Sims 4 no matter what you do.

    If you'd like help picking out a new computer, feel free to ask, whether it's a second opinion on something you like, specific suggestions for options within your budget, or a general idea of what components to look for.
