Sims doesnt start up anymore ive tried everything

Ive looked at various forums and explanations but i cannot fix my sims from not opening. After not playing for a while i tried opening my sims and an error kept occuring (i think due to one of my mods that i deleted because it was buggy). To try fix that i copied my the sims 4 file, put it on my desktop and removed it from the electronic arts folder. However after restarting it still did not open and now continued to show a different problem. I then proceeded to reinstall the game in hopes that it would do something. Upon installing it a message popped up saying that it couldnt find some kind of files. Then the error message ''sims already running'' kept showing up after trying to open the game, despite everything being turned off in task manager. How would i be able to fix this?

Ive looked at the thread and cannot find any help there as ive tried it and it still does not work. Ive deleted the sims 4 folder and its completely empty, its restarted itself however the game still does not want to turn itself on and im not sure what to do. I tried pausing my cloud and looking at the location of the files through command prompt but theyre still where theyre meant to be so im not sure what to do next. I can try putting the sims 4 folder back in which didnt work in the first place to see the already existing error however im not sure if thatd do anything

this is the error message i got once i put the folder back in. When i remove it and restart my computer i get the already running error.

  • is there no way to completely reinstall the sims or wipe it other than removing the folder? or is it something to do with my PC thats the issue

I'm getting a similar error message and it also says permissions error and that it doesn't have the full permission of the folder even though I've deleted all my mods so there is nothing that should be blocking the permission and giving this to copy "CProgram FilesEA GamesThe Sims 4"

  • NikiCarmel  The initialization error is currently mostly related to an overly active antivirus.  Depending on which one you use, you may need to set an exception for the entire Bin folder that contains TS4_x64, TS4_DX9_x64, and TS4_Launcher_x64, and then repair the game again.

If that doesn't help, please disable your antivirus (temporarily), repair the game again, and test it once before reenabling the antivirus.  If it works, be sure to set the exceptions before trying to play with the antivirus running.

If that doesn't help either, please repeat the above except in another new admin Windows account (a local one, again).  The idea here is to create a clean account, with a fresh set of user folders, that the antivirus doesn't touch before you get a chance to launch Sims 4.

12130042  The permission error is also almost always antivirus-related, so please see the above.

for the antivirus part, im not sure im using any except for the windows one, do i disable that?

  • NikiCarmel  You don't need to disable Windows Defender, but try disabling Controlled Folder Access, which is an add-on security measure that isn't strictly necessary.
