Sims won't open

Sims won't load, I've cleared cache, I have no mods or cc, I've restarted my PC it still won't open. Definitely had all updates, I play regularly but yesterday it wouldn't open and I gave up and today once again still won't open. I click it in steam it's says running for to seconds and then stops. Any tips to sort this would b much appreciated

  • PurpleCookieDawg  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just see whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.

If the game still won't open, please let me know what antivirus you use and whether OneDrive is running on this computer.  Please also run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the camera (Insert Media) icon along with the other formatting buttons.
