In order to work, Steam account must be linked to an EA account , once it's done Steam will tell to EA App to unlock the owned products. When they are unlinked, Steam tell to EA App remove these products from the library of this EA account.
Steam doesn't use the same folder as EA App purchases so it can't find the files. On PC :
- Steam > C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Sims 4
- EA App > C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 4
