  • FeliciaBently  Please test without your mods and custom content, as in, move the Mods folder to the desktop and delete localthumbcache.package.  You don't need to save your progress; just let me know whether you can get far enough to load a save.

If that doesn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

  • i had the issue already before the update, also endless loading screens when trying to leave lots from build mode and stuff :(

Same issue here, freshly installed from Steam, but just can't get to playing it. Either it's a white screen on start-up, or if I'm really lucky it will load up to the event week x splash screen which then freezes. Always need to kill it in the task manager, reboot and try again. Tried to delete and reinstall, checked resolution in the setup file, deleted the package mentioned above. I'm out of ideas here, it's beyond frustrating.

  • FeliciaBently  If your game works without your Mods folder, then the problem is something in the Mods folder, and you'll need to sort through its contents to find the culprit.  Keep in mind that some mods that were fine a day or two ago may have broken with the latest patch.  Start here for those:

If you need more help sorting through your mods, feel free to post in the Mods subforum.

DontTouchMyTea  If you'd like help, please test without your Mods folder, and if that doesn't make a difference, provide a dxdiag.

i did test it without mods, it was two supermarket lots and i even had to go to a new save file to be able to place down the buildings without the game to be stuck (and it still took some tries before it worked), one of them did have an large amount of objects on it (cuz its a store) so maybe thats part of the issue but its still an issue that should be fixed

  • DontTouchMyTea  The issue of broken lots has been reported, extensively, and is hopefully on EA's radar.  But in the interim, there's no reliable way to fix the broken lots other than (sometimes) to place them unfurnished.  Please see this for further information:

As a side note, is there a reason you've plugged one monitor into your motherboard?  I realize you're using HDMI for both monitors, and your GPU only has one HDMI port, but I would expect at least one of your monitors to support DisplayPort too, and the GPU has three DP ports.  Still, it's not a major issue as long as you're running Sims 4 on the Optix monitor and therefore with the dedicated card.
