There's a problem with your games setup. Please reinstall your game.

This is my last resort, I have looked through all the previous posts on this same issue and tried all the different ways to fix it; installing an updated driver, uninstalling and reinstalling EA, removing all my mods and cc, and restarting my pc but nothing has worked.

This all started after I installed Gshade for the Sims 4 to use Pearleans Arcadia preset, after installing it I loaded up my game but I was unable to set up Gshade so I ended up uninstalling it. After uninstalling Gshade my computer has been acting funny-glitching and running slow and I cannot open the sims as it almost immediately gives me the "There's a problem with your games setup. Please reinstall your game." The first time I got This message I did reinstall my game but nothing changed. I've looked through all the solved posts for this issue but none of them have solved my issue.

I attached my DxDiag file, I saw it mentioned a few times in some of the other discussions.

 please help :(

  • ratsfridge  Is your computer running slow outside of Sims 4?  I ask because I've heard bad things about GShade, including that some people attribute their malware to downloading the product.  I'm not saying your computer definitely has a virus, only that it's possible, especially if you notice performance issues in regular use.  So I'd suggest running a Windows malware scan:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-start-a-scan-for-viruses-or-malware-in-microsoft-defender-e98663f1-8827-4abe-b9ce-fb2664201f29#id0edh=windows

In step 3, choose the deeper options rather than Quick Scan, which may not be thorough enough.

If this finds anything, let it remove whatever it flagged, then restart your computer and run it again to see whether the malware was actually removed.  If not, I'd suggest using the free trial of Malwarebytes to run a custom scan, with all options enabled—you'll know you're in the right place when you can select things like "scan for rootkits" and check off each drive separately.

If you use a third-party antivirus, you can use it to scan instead, but I'd suggest that if you have malware and the AV didn't catch it being installed, it might not catch it on a scan either.

If none of that helps, please let me know what AV you use, as this error means the game is being blocked from starting rather than crashing.  I'm trying to gather info from other affected users; there are four so far, including you, in the last couple days.

Edit:  I have a couple other suggestions here:
