Unable to see sims in CAS

I have recently done the sims 4 updates. 
There is a glitch where I can’t see any households from my saved games but I also can’t create new households / games to play. 
I can’t see the “sim” I am creating. It is blank as if there isn’t a sim there. 
I can see the usual buttons on the main menu, but it’s like everything else behind it isn’t there. 
I have tried repairing my game. I have tried clearing cache. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling game but I am still faced with the issues. 
I have no mods in the game play either. 

I am unsure what to do. I tried to play an existing household game play by pressing resume, but it just sits there for ages trying to load and then eventually says “not responding” and then crashes. 

any ideas what I can do? Or how to fix this? 
i annoyingly just bought the fairy expansion pack after doing the updates - so I can’t even play the new pack. 

Does anyone know what I can do to fix my game please? It won’t load at all. I tried to continue playing my usual household after the latest update and it won’t load, just freezes on the loading screen. I have tried re-starting and clearing everything through Task Manager. I have repaired the game and it still doesn’t work. If I try to create a new game the screen just goes black (see picture). No mods or cc. Any ideas please?

Could you please provide the following information

• Does no mod include cc ?
• Did you never have any mods/cc or remove them ?
• What platform are you playing on (PC, Mac)
• Please add some pictures of what you are seeing.

Chloelouise1306​  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it looks.

If the new save is fine, you can copy one of your existing saves to the new Sims 4 folder and test that too.  And if the old save still has the same issue, please try loading a different household, one you've never played before.

If the new save doesn't work, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

No mod includes no CC. 

I used to have some mods, but I removed them from my game play. This was before this new update even occurred. So I had used the game before it was updating. 

I am playing on a PC. I checked that my windows is still compatible and it is.

I don’t have a picture of the error when I tried to play an existing game. But it was just on the loading page. Then a message said “not responding” and it forced the game to closed.

Did you play around with disabling packs ?

I also had the same issue as Chloe. I even uninstalled the game completely and redownloaded it. I still have the same issue. 

Your suggestion to her, would this maybe work for mine? Or is the “clean” user file another method to try?

Thank you, yes looks like someone else is having the problem too. 

I am not sure what you mean by playing around with the disabled packs (sorry not very techy here haha). Would you mind explaining what exactly I could try on that? Thank you! 

Chloelouise1306​  The clean user folder is a helpful test for many issues, so please do try it.  If it doesn't help, please provide a dxdiag.

The question about disabling packs is about the new feature where you can disable expansion/game/stuff packs and kits within the game itself.  If you didn't do this, don't worry about it.  If you did, the selection would be stored in UserSettings.ini, inside the user folder, so a clean folder would clear your selection and any associated consequences.
