White loading screen, nothing loads

I am not super tech savvy... But I feel like I have tried everything I've read to do... Uninstall, new folder, repair, dx11, and more but still just stays on a white loading screen... I have nothing on this laptop i only use it for Netflix and Sims... Any suggestions are super welcomed. Thanks!

  • Hello, the same exact thing is happening with me. I have never had this issue before. Its seems like this last update has caused this issue. I have a gaming computer and having nothing on here. I mainly use this laptop for sims and streaming like yourself. This is very frustrating.  I am able to run Sims 2 it's just Sims 4 that is not working. Have you been able to get yours to work yet? If not, I honestly don't think it will fix because it's an issue that needs to be fixed by EA through another update. I really hope it gets fixed soon.

Nope still not working... It worked the last time I played which was a few months ago. but with work I've been too busy. So last week when I tried to play it's been this way... Really frustrating since I've put so much money into packs and kits... Hopefully it can be fixed soon...

  • I'm also having this issue. I've never had a problem with an update before, but this has completely disabled my game. Have you found anything that works to correct it?

  • mistilea2006  This is a common issue on HP gaming laptops.  Please try one of these workarounds:

None of these works for everyone, but something almost always does, so keep trying the workarounds until you find one that lets you play.

RosanRam956  If your gaming laptop is from HP as well (Omen or Victus), please do the above.

If you have a different computer, and removing your Mods folder doesn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

It's funny that we are going through same exact situation. I haven't played in months either because of work as well. Yes, It is very frustrating because we have spent a lot of money on this game and then for it to suddenly not work. Do you have an HP laptop? I have an HP Omen laptop. I have not been able to fix this issue not sure what to do about it. Have you? I have tried doing what others have said to try but its not working and I also I cant figure how exactly to do some of things they said to try.  Unfortunately I don't think it will fix until EA does something about it. Hoping they send out another update to fix this issue very soon. This is not fair that this is happening after we have invested a lot of money on this game.

Yes, I do have an HP Omen. However, I did try to do those workaround steps, but it didn't work. I was able to do a couple of these steps, but it didn't work. Also on my settings under graphics like its displayed here to do in one of the steps well it doesn't have sims 4 only sims 3 for some reason. I'm not sure what to do once there either way.  I am not tech savvy. Having a hard time figuring things out. I think this is an EA issue because I have never had this issue until now. But I don't know!  I'm hoping they drop another update to fix this issue soon. I sad and frustrated that I am not able to play the game I have invested so much money in.

  • RosanRam956  Some of the threads have discussions about where to find specific settings.  I can help if you tell me what exactly you don't find and if the thread in question doesn't make it clear.

This isn't an EA issue, it's an HP gaming laptop issue.  It doesn't happen on any other models.

ok, can you explain to me again what I need to do to step by step? from what was provided before all I have done is to uncheck those two boxes under settings the display category. Now what else do I need to do now? Thank you, I appreciate your help very much!

  • RosanRam956  For one of the five options, yes, that's all you have to do.  For two of the others, the post linked explains what to do.  Night mode should be easy to find, but I can't tell you where it is because I don't have an HP laptop.  If you don't see it, search in Windows, or google it.

As for disabling the iGPU, I would leave that for last if you're not comfortable doing this kind of thing on your own.  It's not going to do any harm when applied correctly, but there are lots of other settings in the general vicinity that should not be messed with.
