I am on PC, no mods, no CC with the Version: 1.121.342.1030 DX11. I created a new save file after the update. I traveled to the Willow Creek Archive Library and it said my sim didn't have permission to use the object. I tried placing my own chess table on the lot and still didn't have permission to use the object. I have a chess table at my home lot that my sims are able to use.
Same here. I read that it's a known bug during events (going back years), but couldn't find any solutions. I have no CC or mods, playing on PC, and just cleared the local cache and repaired my game yesterday. This is happening in my game and there was a group event, so I disbanded the group and still don't have permission (library venue). I think it's the quest event causing it (and they need to stop requiring chess for the event, if that's the case).
Chess tables in parks are not affected. Chess tables in libraries or residences you are visiting are. So either do the event chess match at a park, or at home, to complete it.
