This is happening to me too but also my Sims can't even clean up the messes themselves. They just pick up the trash, stand there for a second, and set it back down.
Thats what im saying. This bug honestly is almost game breaking, i certainly hope they do a hot fix for it ASAP. Because its already irking my soul beyond belief. lol
I completely agree with you that this bug almost breaks the game. For me, not being able to drag things to the trash or sink because when I drag things, the sink and trash aren't an option, it ruins the game. Makes the game more a chore to play than usual.

Like I genuinely dont know a single player who makes their sims manually pick up their dishes. Id be here for 10 min IRL forcing them and re-queueing them to clean up after themselves.
I make kids and teens take out the trash and do dishes so they increase either responsibilities or manners. But when I don't have that, I usually have to do it because my sims and/or the maid just picks them up and sets them down. If the sims won't do it and we as players can't do it...we are doomed to have stinky houses!

My sims do the exact same thing. I had to build a room under my roof to drag the trash to because I can't dispose of it otherwise and I can't just leave it there because the sims would be uncomfortable constantly. Oddly enough the clean litter box interaction still works.
Interesting you say that - even my neat Sims are not picking up unless I really make them do so. They can if I direct them a few times but it's not like before. Thought I was going crazy...
Same, I'm building an empire of trash coz no bins or sinks are working and I'm having to pile it all up outside
