I'm having the same issue. It's by far the most annoying bug I've encountered! I like to use the nano trash cans and drag plates in for the extra simoleons and this is preventing that. I hope they fix it soon!
yes and they almost NEVER use the money trashcans autonomously. So if you rely on those for rags to riches youre... screwed? Like thanks for ruining the most commonly used interaction, wonderful job. lol
