I just had to start a new save avoiding to have rentals altogether.

  Simtasticgallery I know this is an old thread, but I'm getting the exact same LE. Are you saying that in order to avoid this in the future you started a new save and are avoiding rentals such as residential rentals?

    Yes! That's basically what I did and it has worked ever since and of course I have plenty of backups of the new save file / mods and cc updated too just in case.
