[HR] Horse/Foals refuse to play with Ball

As per ttitle the horse ball needs to be rebought after a while of owning as the horses refuse to use it.

It come up with the horse refusing animation, rather than the cant path animation. The horse immediately uses the new ball with no problems.

Edit by crinrict: Adjusted title

Original report

Place a horse ball down and have a horse play with it or leave them to autonomously play with it. After a while (possibly a few sims days) the horse will stop autonomously playing with it on its own and if you ask them to play with it they get a thought bubble of the ball and then shake their head and won't play with it.

That's still the same. Merging it. You do get the thought bubble and it's just the head shaking that's missing from the sound of it.

I've seen both behaviors and this would be hard to keep separate.

This was from the original report.

  • This also happened to me. My horse won't play the ball autonomously, their fun need are red and I can't do anything with it so I have to disable their need for now

I was having this issue where they always refused when encouraged, and also didn't use it autonomously, but then the other day (before Feb 3 patch) I got her to max temperament and then aged up to adult, was same at first but then we visited a friend's household lot with horses and I was able to get her to play with theirs. It had the (ugly lol!) soccer ball swatch, so when we went home I changed the swatch to the soccer ball swatch and it seems to be fine now. She plays with it autonomously sometimes too. Likely just a coincidence, I don't think swatches have different tuning like that lol but it was a shot in the dark. Maybe horses have color preferences, who knows!! I think I also moved it to a more open area or something too. Probably unrelated to any reason/cause I could possibly consider, but I guess it works now haha.
