Photos/Paintings turning black (1.102.190/1.82)

I did some testing on this and I can duplicate the issue like this

1. Take photo
2. Hang photo on wall
3. Exist the save with saving
4. Load the game 
5. Find photo black

It didn't happen for me if I saved the game first and then exited. Also travelling did the same.

I also looked as some saves posted here and the photo textures were not in the save game so it's like if you don't activity save the game, the actual texture (aka the photo) isn't saved to the game.

I don't know if there's other factors contributing but most here say it's currently only happening on new photos, old ones are not affected.

Today it happened for me as well...my old pictures are saved, the new ones are black!

Same, just happened again today with an engagement photo. Not happy. 

As of the most recent update I am still having this issue.

I am having this issue as well. No mods or CC and play on PC. Photos they took today at their wedding at a venue look to be OK, but photos they took at their home the day before are black. The old photos in their inventory appear to be OK (not taken at their current house), so right now it seems confined to just the ones taken in this house. 

I have the same problem. Not only do the photos turn black, but the family portrait and autographs vanish after existing the game. I have tried everything, but I couldn't find any solution for it. The old photos are ok, but the new photos turn black. 

I have just started to have this issue. PC, version: 1.113.297.1020 DX11 I have mods, but it happened after I also quit and reloaded the game. I have tried to drag them back into my sims inventory but that didn't restore them. All of the photos that are in my sims inventory and weren't on the walls are also black.

The original screenshots are not deleted, or have been moved.

They were never in the household inventory and/or the storage box.

The only photo that stayed was one the game generated itself through the cherished memories thing.

I hope there's a solution that returns the photos.

Do you exit the game completely and come back? Or just save and exit to the main menu?

This just started happening in my game. I use photos to make custom no-cc wall art for my builds and all of a sudden they are showing up black. I really hope this issue gets fixed soon, so many of my builds since Businesses and Hobbies came out are looking really sad with blacked-out frames 😔 

I had this happen to 1 of my photos as well.  It was on the wall - no frame or storage box on my lots due to previous issues with these items causing photos to turn black.
