Placing lots from the gallery freezes game/endless loading

I m facing the same problem for over a year now. Since I installed the for rent Pack. But it doesnt matter which World or lot im placing from the gallery. First it works fine but if I place more lots in a row, I can tell that after the 4th or 5th lot the game will freeze in loading Screen. I never used mods. I tried again 2 weeks ago after I got the New dlc but it happened again. It is definitely not specific to any lot it can happen with every lot from the gallery I place.

This still happens to me occasionally but I learned that it is less likely to happen when I’m loaded into the lot, I am NOT in buy mode and switch the build mode. 

I placed a house from the gallery on an empty lot and moved my Sim in there. When selecting the household to play the screen loads ENDLESSLY. I tried several times to load this household in this lot which means I've had to force close the game several times because of the endless loading. 

I eventually gave up and selected another household living in a lot that came with the game/world and it loaded no problem. I then noticed that the other empty lots where I placed houses were empty. I took a chance to visit those seemingly empty lots in the hopes that when I visit them, they will then show, but then screen just loads endlessly again. 

I've noticed the same empty lot problem in other wolds and neighborhoods where I have have placed lots. 

I play on pc with no mods/cc.

October 27th 2025. Still having this issue. I do not have any mods associated with build mode for this exact reason. All my mods are only for CAS. So don’t tell me it’s a mod issue when this happens with or without mods on fresh saves or not. 

I have come across this issue more often on saves that are played in with more generations played. I don’t know if that means there is an issue with deaths on that lot I’m replacing, since they’re mostly community lots I replace. I don’t have many for rent lots in my world. 

last night I opened my game and edited about 6-7 families I have made through manage world, manage households. no cheats applied. I added all my families to the gallery, so the gallery was working for me. While I opened my gallery i decided to check the gallery for anything new I would like. I found a willow creek park update with toddler equipment, new kids equipment, pet equipment (so this makes the lot TREMENDOUSLY MORE USEFUL FOR GAMEPLAY) Yet, I just got an endless loading loop. The lot I replacing was a custom gallery lot. I didn’t hit save so the hour I spent updating outfits and saving my sims to the gallery and forgetting to hit save and forgetting this was even STILL an issue you can run into, I just lost it all. And, to make it even better I don’t know if the force crashing of the application might have corrupted my save file. I let it load and went to bed last night hoping for it to actually load, but it didn’t and my computer ran while the sims ran my cpu the whole time. 

I don’t understand how the sims hasn’t even acknowledged this issue and they don’t seem to care that this has been a problem sims 2014. 

Hey Moochellie​ I think what you are experiencing with the empty lots that shouldn't be empty could be this issue, maybe upvote that one as well if it looks like yours: Neighboring Houses show as Default/Empty | EA Forums - 11903590 

Are you by any chance playing in a save where you have build-up a lot of the lots of your worlds (like close to all?)? Or are you playing with residential rentals?

I also just this week reached a state in my main save where lots are defaulting to empty or default houses, and wonder if everyone who has all packs and built-up all available lots will reach a similar point in their games, because the game may not be able to store the amount of lots we now have with our numerous worlds..

karoschmitz​ It's both - most of the multi floor lots that came with the worlds were converted to residential rentals and a lot of the empty lots have been filled with gallery downloads. 

I'll give some details in the thread you recommended. 

When I downloaded some apartments from the gallery my game got an infinity loading screen to every house in my game. 

I did the whole troubleshooting thing, but it changed nothing. The only way to fix it was to reload an old save without the apartments. 

I tried it again, because I didn't know this was an issue I recreate the whole thing and it crashed on the point where I downloaded a new apartment from the gallery.
