You're misinformed. Many who have experienced this issue have gaming devices with ample memory. Yes, the save file size plays a role, but For Rent in particular is the root cause of a lot of the save file inflation, particularly among rotational players.
I agree with EJ! I have one of the most powerful PC’s and gaming laptops you can buy which can both run City Skylines 2 and Inzoi (very demanding games) simultaneously with no problems! My Sims 4 save game file size drop to around 94mb back in December after I destroyed half of my builds to get rid of the lot corruption bug and keep the game from destroying itself. My save file now exceeds 120mb and guess what, I have added no new content or Sims! For some reason the game save file increases just by playing the game! I have never seen anything like this in my life and I play hundreds of games! Fortunately, I am not experiencing the lot or save corruption, just longer loading screens and slightly more crashes but nothing out of the ordinary. My PC could still handle this game even if it ballooned to 1gb! One suggestion that EA could implement is to “cloud the game” to reduce the effect of game file size in gamers devices. One thing is certain, if EA wants to continue adding more and more content like cars, cruise ships, etc. to Sims 4, the game will become so bloated on devices that everyone will start experiencing the save corruption bug, even if they have the worlds largest and most powerful super computer. EA should rebuild the Sims 4 on a newer game engine where this will no longer be a concern. Otherwise, other than a cloud, I don’t think any amount of programming can fix this and this is not related to For Rent.
