I've spent several days trying to address some 800 / 801 corruption in my game. I am beginning to wonder if part of the problem isn't somehow connected to OneDrive - most computers now come with OneDrive integrated and that's where My Documents points by default - even disabling it (which I thought I had done) One Drive still works to take over. When changes are made to the files, OneDrive has a cache that can and will rewrite them (I discovered this working in SimsStudio) so I'm wondering if OneDrive may have a role in savegames becoming corrupt.
I would disagree because I disabled OneDrive and I still got Error 800/801 afterwards with new saves. I don't think it is one issue corrupting saves, I think it is a series of issues or just the base code itself.
