Sims Stuck

This has happened a couple of times where my sim or other sims that I don't even play will get stuck in one spot and can't get out, kind of like they are trapped and the only way of getting them out is moving furniture around. This has also happened at work when I needed to talk to a sim in order to complete a task but couldn't because the sim was stuck in one of those rooms without doors.
