The new EA Sims Forum
I am a member of the soon to be Sims Forum. I have also raised my concern in the Forum and will repeat it here. Perhaps this debate has already started somewhere else, but forgive me for not seeing where. That is exactly the problem. I think everything new requires getting used to and I will probably spend some time getting to know the new EA Forum. However, there is one thing that immediately catches my eye and surprises me. How is it that almost everything is sorted by 'The most' such as Most Recent, Most Viewed, Most Replies, Most Likes. It is of course very nice for those who already have a lot of followers and likes, but for someone else it seems like a killer. On a forum like X, you're practically invisible and dead if you don't have a whole bunch of followers. I'm afraid the same thing is going to happen here. As I said, it may be because I can't find my way around yet, but I need to voice my concern out loud and hopefully become wiser. The best thing about the old Sims Forum is that it didn't try to look like a social media like any other social media where it's about scoring the highest rank and number of followers to get benefits. This applies in particular to the right to costume a personal avatar. I really hope the idea of earning enough rank to get a personal avatar is rethought. The existing Forum has been a sanctuary where you have been able to cultivate the special interest you have in the game with other Simmers regardless of their rank and general popularity. The entire structure of the forum has made it easy to navigate. I don't know how to navigate the EA Forum when it focuses on highlighting the most popular lore at the moment. This cultivation of elitism leaves me with a feeling of loneliness. For me it's a killer because I don't want to be in a Forum where I have to be confirmed daily that I'm invisible and therefore unimportant.Welcome to the Sims 3 forum
Welcome to the Sims 3 section of the new EA forums. We now have an entire Sims 3 subforum, with sections for General Discussion (here), Creative Corner, and Technical Issues. Site Feedback Please post your forum-related feedback in the dedicated Feedback section here: EA Forums - Questions & Feedback | EA Forums This site is not a finished product yet, so sharing feedback may make a considerable difference. If you don't like the forum yet, let the EA admins know why and how to make it better. Rules and Guidelines Please see these articles: EA Forums Rules - 19 Getting Started - Welcome to the EA Forums! | EA Forums - 26 Avatars At the moment, regular users cannot upload custom avatars. You can however choose one of a (currently small) number of EA-provided options. Click your username, select My Settings > Personal, and click the current avatar to bring up the list of images. Supported Files This forum allows direct uploads of images and text files, so have at it. You can of course still embed images uploaded to third-party sites. Use the Insert Link (paper clip) or Insert Media (camera) icon with the other formatting options above the text field. Tags This forum supports adding tags to an original post, and we recently gained a whole pile of them. So please pick the tag(s) that best describe your thread. In particular, adding at least one tag is critical in the Technical Issues subforum: make sure the helpers can find your post. EA community managers may add tags to an OP to make it more easily searchable. When searching this forum, you can filter the search by tag as well as by game or user. Reactions As of now, this forum only supports likes, no other reactions. Feel free to hand some out. They don't mean anything though. Users can see who liked each post by clicking the number next to Like at the bottom of the post. Old threads It looks like the threads from the old Sims forums have already been migrated. Feel free to keep using them.374Views16likes1CommentAnother day of silence
EA_AljoGotta eventually address the community. Let’s speak about the rewards. Open up dialogue about this and let’s talk. You want our feedback, you’ll get it. Rewards are going to destroy HUT. Stop avoiding this and let’s address this massive issue. Please let me know who I need to contact at EA to pass along this feedback as it’s clear you don’t want anything to do with it. To all, please post below to show your support around this. We can’t go down quiet otherwise the game we love is over for good. I know 0 of you are excited about the next 53 days of useless grind.480Views15likes18CommentsRoll call for TS3 builders and players
Welcome to the new forums everyone! I’m thinking it will be great to connect with TS3 members who made the transition especially since some folks have different forum names now. Perhaps add a brief intro and link to your studio / site / blog etc. I’ll start… soocoolsim … same name as on the previous sites. Active since The Sims, became more of a builder than a player with TS2 and love building in TS3 the most. To all, Please continue to share your issues with EA. The moderator of this forum (unnamed) encourages it. See below for his post just a few days ago talking about what he welcomes on this forum. “We want the EA NHL forums to be a welcome and friendly place for all. This doesn't mean we don't accept negative feedback. As long as it's constructive and not breaking the rules, that's fine. We want to hear what you're struggling with as much as we want to know what you're liking.” Please, do yourself a favor and go through any thread on here that discusses 1. Pack prices 2. Reward path 3. Broken economy etc etc etc. This particular moderator is only responding to what he wants to respond to. IE, he is not accepting negative feedback around certain subjects. They clearly do not want to hear what we are struggling with, otherwise they’d respond to one of the 50+ threads that talks about it! Shoot, at least give us some lip service of “I have passed this along to the team”. I’d stop posting about it instantly! At least at that point we understand that someone at EA has acknowledged us. I have doubts they’ll fix it regardless. I am beyond disappointed with how low EA is going with the rollout of this game and particularly HUT. Please take this moderators advice and share all of your negative feedback in a constructive way which doesn’t break the rules. They want to hear what we are struggling with, they just don’t address it. I am unsure of what else to even say at this point. They have an entire fanbase of their largest game mode asking questions & giving feedback which they are intentionally choosing to avoid. Go into this mod’s account & you will see he is very active in responding to stuff, just not anything involving certain topics. Sad. To the unnamed mod, I don’t blame you. I blame the company you work for. It’s a shame they put you in this position with no other air cover & or real support… but you are the community manager, and you’re INTENTIONALLY AVOIDING SUBJECTS. I’m sure those above you are telling you to stay silent, just frustrating. I hope someday someone at EA wakes up. But, my guesses are a $500 pack comes out before that happens. Please, EA. Do something. Address your loyal community. It’s so embarassing for you to stay silent through this.133Views12likes3CommentsCreation Zone - Disappointment
Another year of the same exact 10 arenas to choose from. Another year of the same logos. Another year of the same city and team names. Another year of ECHL logos but no AHL or CHL logos. Another year of pre ordering the game and immediately coming here to post my disappointment. Why is this mode so neglected?174Views12likes6CommentsVeilguard Romances and Companion Interactions Feel Shallow
So far, I have about 100 hours in this game, I have completed the primary and side questlines, and have found that even when your Rook does engage in a locked in romance, you can completely forget about it. This is an opinion, but I do feel like Veilguard has the weakest romance aspect in any of the DA games, and that even some of the romances in Mass Effect: Andromeda seem more thought out than these, which is something I'd never thought I would say. I have heard of people being incredibly disappointed with how little thought is apparently put into the companions interactions with Rook, and not just the romantic ones, but how Rook feels like a Fly on the Wall for a lot of the game. And I hate that I somewhat have to agree. I like that the companions seek each other out and have unique conversations and dialogue, I find that very enjoyable, but what it lacks for me, is any depth or proper emotion given to the romances, or even to companion interactions with individual Rooks. I romanced Davrin, and have seen on forums that a lot of people think he has one of the better romances, and after watching the Lucanis and other romances, I would have to agree. I think this is because he tends to offer and at least somewhat reciprocate your advances through a lot of the interactions Rook and he have together, whereas with some of the others, you completely forget that you started romancing them. I was glad to see how romance could happen organically outside of Rook's choices, the Lucanis/Neve, Taash/Harding and Emmerich/Strife pairings I feel all progressed well. However, they feel as if they were given more time and effort than a single one of Rook's pairings, as they have more depth than Rook's. One of the things that I found most damaging to the romance in this game, is that you can't really interact with your romance outside of the missions that they give, like at all. In other Dragon Age games and Mass Effect games, you could typically walk up to a companion and talk to them, enter into dialogue trees, learn more about their characters and backstories and their thoughts and feelings in regards to you, other companions, or the present circumstances, and that is almost entirely missing from Veilguard. Not only this, but the reactions that the romanced character would have to certain things, such as Rook being in extreme danger, are nearly completely missing. The dialogue, and the way the romanced companion regards you outside of their missions where you can occasionally pick the Heart option, is incredibly lacking. It feels as if there is a massive chunk of the game missing just from that alone, that Rook can barely talk or interact with the companions outside of the missions they give you, and I feel like that is one of the main problems this game has. If feels like they kind of slapped and wrote a lot of the dialogue and romances together 3 months before the game release, and that is detracting from romance as a whole. Rook could romance no one, and there wouldn't really be a remarkable change or shift in hardly any of the dialogue or scenes that are given, which is a travesty for a game series that engages in player choices, both big and small. I remember in Inquisition, that I could literally just spend an hour of my time going through a couple of character's dialogue trees in Haven or Skyhold, and learn so much about them and what their experiences and thoughts were. This is not present at all in Veilguard, and has, in my opinion, done the game a great disservice.Patch 1.1.0 Are you serious?
Anyway absolutely nothing that I and others have requested has been included in this patch, purchasing the deluxe edition was pointless for us who play chel as its not worth playing with the features that are missing and certain bugs... I'm disgusted the game has released as it has, and will 110 percent not be buying another EA Sports NHL game again on release... From lack of feedback (apart from one of the community managers which has been nothing constructive) I genuinely believe unless they bring someone new in to make these games how they used to be its potentially a downhill from here... I know many others who wont buy your games day one again either, and it's sad because of the memories many of us make on your game. Please get the passion back, this is the last post I will be putting on here and will wait to see if the devs actually patch what we have asked for... Disapointed and disgusted would be an under statement, Cheers EA, LB Edit: Removed mentioning of moderation. This is against the Answers HQ rules. -CM663Views11likes24CommentsProgress?
I feel at this point that we've made out views pretty clear. The new forums have a number of serious issues - no avatars, no page numbers, no subforums, bad sorting, unstable logins, getting rerouted, long load times, etc. At this point, new feedback is just repeating the old. What I think we all want now is to hear from folks running this show. So, I'll ask the impertinent question... because it's what I do. What progress is being made to address the issues?
