Offline progression should not be monetized
The decision to add monetized progression pressure to Road to Glory is one of the most anti-consumer choices EA could have made with this mode. Road to Glory is not Ultimate Team. It is not an online competitive mode. It is not a card-collecting mode built around spending. It is supposed to be a single-player career experience where players create a character, build them through gameplay, and enjoy their own offline story. Taking that kind of mode and designing progression around paid boosts or paywalled advancement completely undermines the entire point of Road to Glory. This feels like EA looked at one of the few remaining places where players could simply enjoy the game they already paid for and decided it still was not enough. Instead of improving depth, presentation, immersion, teammate logic, coaching logic, practice variety, or the actual quality of the career mode experience, the priority appears to be finding a way to squeeze more money out of players who already bought the game. That is what makes this so frustrating. Players have asked for more meaningful single-player features for years. We want better stories, better progression, better customization, better AI, better presentation, and more control over how we play. Instead, we are getting monetization creeping into offline modes. This is not a small issue. This is a clear signal that EA is willing to sacrifice the integrity of single-player modes if there is another dollar to chase. Road to Glory should be balanced around gameplay, player choice, and fun. It should not be balanced around frustration, time-gating, or pushing players toward additional purchases. EA needs to remove monetized progression pressure from Road to Glory and recommit to making this mode a real single-player football career experience, not another revenue funnel.dvill692 months agoSeasoned Newcomer2.2KViews27likes189CommentsDepth Chart Bug - LEDGE4/REDGE4
I have done 3 EDGE playthroughs. Ended as 4 star once, 5 star twice in Heisman. Each time, I chose a school as a projected starter. Every time, I ended as a LEDGE 4, despite being the top EDGE overall and with coach trust higher than the other players. Also, I never got a position battle, so was last on the depth chart the entire freshman season. [Title edit for searchability - CM]3.7KViews31likes72CommentsXp sliders where are they?
I won’t be playing this game until they add back xp sliders to RTG Ik people don’t care whatever but they had no reason to take out this fantastic feature for people who don’t want to sit on the game all day just to be an 80 ovr. they are pretending like taking out this feature is going to make player play more it’s going to the opposite when the player finally gets to the ovr they want but guess what you are in your senior year and I can only enjoy being dominant for one season? Where is the fun in that. Just tedious and stressful. Some people are gonna be like “oh don’t want to grind” **bleep** no have you seen how hard it is in 2k to get to a decent ovr without microtranactions. You will sit there for weeks on 2k before you even get a 77 ovr. Please for the love of god ea add back xp sliders **bleep** this game413Views7likes35CommentsCommentator Audio Becomes Extremely Distorted
There is also a significant audio issue during Road to Glory games. The commentators' audio becomes extremely staticky and distorted, making it difficult to understand what they are saying. The problem appears to progressively get worse as the game continues. It is particularly noticeable around second quarter and going into the third quarter, and by the conclusion of the game the commentator audio can become extremely distorted. This seems to be something that develops during the game rather than simply being an audio setting or an issue that is present from the opening kickoff. 2. Game Freezing at the Conclusion and Lost Progression Finally, there is an extremely frustrating issue at the conclusion of games. The game can freeze or become stuck while transitioning from the completed game to the post-game progression screen. When this happens, I do not receive the progression that I earned during the game. This can include progression related to my performance and objectives I completed during the game.872Views9likes26CommentsNo position battles?
I am playing the game and started as a 3-star LEDG in highschool and then became a 4-star. Chose msu because of nil and playing time. However, even as i was accumulating coach trust the game never prompted me for a single position battle even though I now have more coach trust and higher overall than every single player on my team at the same position. I am on my second season and am still LEDG4, literally what is going on?! I'm playing the trial and have wasted the past 4 hours not even being able to play the game.ZHD1332 months agoSeasoned Newcomer368Views6likes15CommentsTransaction error glitch
Every time I go into road to glory a error message pops up and takes me to the upgrade screen and every time I exit out of it another error message pops up about my previous purchase being interrupted but I never attempted a purchase and takes me back to where I was and the cycle repeats over and over I’ve tried to restart the game and my console even delete it and redownload it and none has worked I think it’s because I accidentally clicked to make a micro transaction and back out of it and it’s been doing ever since.PCRACK082 months agoTraveler277Views1like13CommentsRoad to Glory Transfer Portal Does Not Allow School Selection
Has anyone else tried transferring from a school and never getting the chance to do so? Seems like all of our RTG concerns are falling on deaf ears. There is also this forum to report these bugs and glitches. It’s very disheartening that EA doesn’t care their player base has bugs/glitches that doesn’t allow them to play the game. https://forums.ea.com/category/college-football-27-en/ideas/college-football-27-bug-reports-enIIVGRiMREAPERVII29 days agoSeasoned Rookie221Views5likes12CommentsBUG REPORT: RTG Edge Rusher Depth Chart Bug (LEDGE/REDGE Issue)
Has anyone else run into this in Road to Glory? I'm playing as an edge rusher, but once I move up the depth chart, the game starts ranking me at RDE1 instead of the position I'm supposed to be playing, LDE. Because of that, the game constantly rotates me in and out, and I end up playing almost every other snap instead of staying on the field. In one of my RTGs, I earned the starting job at Notre Dame and was playing every defensive snap with no issues. Later, I cheated on a test, which dropped me on the depth chart. After that, I had to do a position battle for RDE1 instead of getting my LDE spot back. Ever since then, the game has been stuck treating me as the right edge rusher, and the constant substitutions have completely changed my playing time. It basically glitched my entire four-year RTG save. Before this happened, I rarely came off the field. Now I'm forced to sub in and out almost every other play, even as the starter. Has anyone found a fix or workaround for this, or is this just a bug that needs to be patched?Sports_4362 months agoRising Novice310Views3likes9CommentsRoad to Glory Has Some Major Bugs That Need Immediate Attention
Cap Breakers Become Unusable After You've Earned All 25 There is a major bug with the Cap Breaker system that can permanently prevent players from using Cap Breakers they've legitimately earned. Once your career reaches the maximum of 25 earned Cap Breakers, the game stops allowing you to spend any remaining ones, even if you still have unused Cap Breakers available. For example: I earn 10 Cap Breakers and spend all 10. Later, I earn the remaining 15 throughout my career. Once my total reaches 25 earned, those remaining 15 become unusable. The game appears to track how many Cap Breakers you've earned instead of how many you've spent. As a result, reaching the lifetime cap locks you out of using any Cap Breakers you still have available. What makes this even more frustrating is that you can't use a Cap Breaker until you've already maxed out the attribute you want to increase. The progression system also isn't balanced around this bug. You earn Cap Breakers much faster than you earn enough XP to max out your attributes. Unless you spend an entire season dumping every bit of XP into one attribute, it's nearly impossible to keep up. That means players who perform well are actually punished. By simply playing the game, breaking records, and winning awards, you can reach all 25 earned Cap Breakers before you've had a realistic chance to spend them. Once that happens, any remaining Cap Breakers become permanently unusable. This completely defeats the purpose of rewarding player progression and effectively disables one of Road to Glory's core progression features for players who perform well. The Senior-Year Transfer Portal Is Completely Broken This is another career-breaking bug. After your junior season, Road to Glory gives you the option to enter the Transfer Portal. You go through the end-of-season recap. You tell your coach you're planning to transfer. Everything looks normal... Then the game skips the entire transfer process. Instead of showing available schools and the Transfer Portal tab, the next tab is "Position Changes," which is a Dynasty Mode feature that shouldn't even appear in Road to Glory. If you advance one more week, the Transfer Portal Week disappears completely. You're automatically placed back on the exact same team you just told the coach you wanted to leave. You never get to choose another school. You never see transfer offers. Instead, your senior season begins as if you never chose to enter the portal in the first place. I've seen some people online suggest that this only happens if your player was redshirted, but that wasn't the case in my save. I started as a true freshman at Auburn, played my first season immediately, and was never redshirted at any point. Despite that, I still encountered this exact bug after my junior season. That suggests this isn't exclusively a redshirt-related issue. If there are multiple causes, then EA should investigate all of them. Either way, players shouldn't lose the opportunity to transfer because the game skips one of Road to Glory's biggest offseason features. For anyone planning to transfer after their junior season, this can completely ruin a save you've invested dozens of hours into. Wear & Tear Is Far Too Punishing, Especially for Quarterbacks This one isn't necessarily a bug, but it's easily my biggest gameplay complaint. I understand what Wear & Tear is trying to accomplish. Football is physical. Players shouldn't be able to absorb unlimited hits without consequences. But right now the system feels way too extreme. As a quarterback, it feels like every defender hits with the force of Prime Ray Lewis or Brian Dawkins with Aftershock on Platinum. One sack. One scramble. One designed QB run. Sometimes even one normal tackle... ...and suddenly multiple ratings have dropped. Even with high Toughness and Injury ratings, the punishment feels excessive. The biggest problem is that the mode encourages players to play on higher difficulties because that's where the best XP rewards are earned. But on Heisman difficulty, even behind an average offensive line, you're almost guaranteed to take several hard hits throughout the game, whether that's sacks, QB runs, or simply scrambling to avoid pressure. When every sack or tackle causes significant Wear & Tear, it stops feeling like football and starts feeling like you're being punished simply for playing the game. I made a separate post about this previously because I feel strongly about it. I don't think Wear & Tear should be removed. I think it needs balancing. A few ideas: Reduce how quickly Wear & Tear builds up. Make Toughness and Injury ratings matter more. Add Wear & Tear sliders so players can customize the experience. Bring back XP sliders so we don't have to choose between realistic gameplay and reasonable progression. Right now the system feels overly punishing rather than immersive. These are the biggest issues I've experienced so far, but I'd love to hear what everyone else has encountered. If you've found other Road to Glory bugs or gameplay issues that I didn't mention, please reply below with as much detail as possible. Hopefully, if enough of us contribute to this thread, EA will see just how many players are being affected and prioritize fixing these issues. The more examples we can gather in one place, the easier it is for EA to see how widespread these problems are and hopefully address them in a future update.394Views3likes8CommentsOffense is a joke

The cap breakers is a nice twist to building the attributes of the avatar player in Road to Glory. However, the decision to limit the number of cap breakers to 25 needs reevaluation. If you play exceedingly well, you may well be stymied in your career development as a 96 overall level player, with a ton of tokens and cap breakers earned to upgrade the attributes further, but because every single attribute needs a cap breaker to further advance it, and because you can only use 25 cap breakers, you must play out two or so years without being unable to further improve your player. This is totally unrealistic in how collegiate talent is developed. Frankly, if a player earns an overall attribute limit of 99, such as my avatar player earned as a sophomore QB, then he should not be stymied in development at level 96. This cap breaker system needs to be tweaked by upping the number of cap breakers one can actually use.Ken_Stallings2 months agoRising Traveler120Views0likes7CommentsBug Report: Depth Chart Glitch in Road to Glory Mode
Platform: PS5 Game Version: CFB27/Madden 27 Bundle Description of Bug: I am playing as a left edge rusher in Road to Glory mode. My overall rating is 80. I began at Oregon, and despite having a higher overall rating than my teammates, I have been stuck at the fourth position on the depth chart all season. I played an entire first year, all the way to the championship, without seeing any playing time. In the second season, even though I am the top-rated player and there are no senior edge rushers ahead of me, I remain fourth in the depth chart. Additionally, I created a second character, also a left edge rusher, who transferred to Southern Miss. This time, the promotion package indicated I would be a starter upon joining the team. However, after joining, I was still placed at the fourth position, despite having a higher overall rating than all my teammates. Expected Behavior: I expect that my performance in practices, my overall rating, and team promises (like the starter package) should reflect in my playing time and depth chart position. Steps to Reproduce: Create a left edge rusher in Road to Glory. Assign the player to Oregon. Play a full season, reaching the championship, and remain fourth on the depth chart. Create a second character with similar specs, join Southern Miss, and still be placed fourth despite a promised starter role.0mte9r1peomc2 months agoSeasoned Newcomer770Views3likes7CommentsAre the Developers aware/care
EA_David EA_Kent I am genuinely curious if the developers are aware of the issues W&T has caused to the RTG community specifically the Career and Season components of it. If you look at forums from last year I don't think you will find a single post praising that feature yet instead of listening to the community it seems they punished us and made it a ridiculous XP penalty to not have it. I enjoyed it in cfb25, but was forced to turn it off in 26 and now in 27 I have no choice but to accept that I will only be able to play RTG for 2 seasons (unless ofc I want to play as a walking corpse or stay level 80 forever since they removed the XP sliders aswell). Would love just one response from the EA admin community to address this and let us know if it is being listened to at all or if we should just accept it will never be worked on.TheGreatA1A13 days agoRising Rookie156Views1like6CommentsTHE DRAFT PROJECTION IS BROKEN.
I'm going to complain until somebody explains to me what the patch was supposed to fix and how this makes sense. I need a community manager to help me understand how I can go undefeated, win the Heisman and 4 other awards, and win the natty as a sophomore middle linebacker, and still have my draft projection continually plummet. Madden drops tomorrow for everybody, and there needs to be an emergency patch that ignores your draft projection and just takes into account your achievements and legacy score.RighteousBoyBlue1 month agoSeasoned Traveler129Views2likes6CommentsRoad to Glory Progression
Still seeing a lot of complaints about player progression. I know I’m probably the only one or maybe there are a few others but truthfully I think that paying to upgrade your player was still a good idea. But everyone wants to do it the hard way then complains it’s too hard. To me that seems like the microtransaction is worth it but what do I know.Randa11212 months agoSeasoned Novice147Views0likes6Comments
