Information Regarding Career Mode Crashes & AI Performance
Hello players, Following the v1.4.0 update to EA SPORTS™ WRC, an unforeseen issue with Career Mode has occurred that is affecting a number of players. Please see below for further information and what we are doing to resolve it for you all. What happened: The v1.4.0 update was released. This update added Central European Rally to the game. Central European Rally was also added to Career Mode, both as part of the WRC class, and across several other Championships and Events in Career. The addition of Central European Rally caused a mismatch in the game code with a specific set of Benefactor objectives. Affected players will experience a 100% crash rate if their Career Mode save features these specific objectives. How are players affected: Career Mode contains hundreds of combinations of Benefactor objectives, specifying which Events and Championships the player must compete in as progression targets. These Benefactor objectives are randomly assigned to players at the start of each Career Mode Season. Players who have specific combinations of these Benefactor objectives will experience a game crash if they attempt to continue their Career. Players who have not started Career, or start a new Career are not affected in Career Mode Season 1. Some players may be able to load a Career Mode save without any issue, though this cannot be predicted in advance. Players who are currently in Career Mode Season 2 and beyond in WRC2 and Junior WRC are at risk of a crash if they attempt to continue their career. Players who are currently in Career Mode Season 2 and beyond in WRC are also at risk, and players in Season 3 and beyond are at a higher risk. If a player has experienced this crash, there is a chance that their Career Mode progress has been lost with no ability to recover. How players can mitigate the issue: If a player has an active Career Mode save, we are advising all players to avoid playing in Career until an update is released. With the hotfix we are aiming to restore existing Career Mode Saves for those that do not start a new Career. If a player wishes to start a new Career, they can do so without being affected by this issue, however their previous save will be permanently lost. How we are fixing the issue: This issue is the #1 priority for our team as regards fixes and updates. However, as this is a complicated and delicate issue that affects save games, we do not wish to rush a quick fix, and inadvertently cause further issues down the line. With this hotfix we are also aiming to recover lost Career Mode saves for those that do not start a new Career. The aim is to have a hotfix ready as soon as possible. What else will be in the hotfix: The primary goal of the hotfix will be to resolve the issues causing Career Mode to crash for players. In addition, we believe we have found a fix for the commonly-reported “inconsistent AI performance when resuming an Event” issue. We plan to implement this AI change into the hotfix as well, thank you for your recent reports which have helped us to potentially diagnose the root cause. Finally, we plan to implement a fix to the track limits issue reported on Rally Chile stages, which arose after the v1.4.0 update was released. When will a hotfix be released: Due to the complexity of the Career Mode issue, the action required to resolve it, and the time required for testing and certification, we aim to be in a position to issue a hotfix on all platforms in mid January.Inconsistent AI Times

I've pre-ordered the PS5 version of WRC and successfully downloaded it today. However, in the controller selection screen, I can't find my Thrustmaster TGT2 steering wheel. I've been having a fun time with WRC so far, but I've hit a brick wall in terms of progression, because I am having a problem with the visuals that makes it fundamentally impossible to play. Throughout the game, I have been experiencing visual artifacting much like what I've shown in the attached images. Black squares take up much of the screen, making things a bit difficult to see, but at first, the issue wasn't intolerable exactly, just a little annoying. However, where things got really troublesome was at the first attempt at a night rally, and it's impossible to see anything in that. In preparation for playing the game, I updated my computer's graphics drivers to the most recent version (GeForce Game Ready Driver 546.01). My NVIDIA GTX 980 Ti's a bit behind the curve now, but I have gotten good framerates from it, but issues of the nature I've just brought up are ultimately preventing me from playing more than I would want to. If there is any more information I need to provide, I'll try my best to provide it.
EA SPORTS WRC - Report Corner-Cutting Exploits Here
EA SPORTS WRC is a game where drivers compete against the stopwatch to se the fastest times on every rally stage. As such, it is important that the stages provide a fair experience for all drivers, particularly those in a competitive environment such as Time Trial, Clubs or esports. To further ensure the competitive fairness of the game, several corners across the game's 600+km of unique roads feature various elements to limit the possibility of a driver "cutting a corner" to gain an advantage, including: Rougher terrain Rocks, trees and other obstacles Reset zones Anti-Cut Blocks, that issue penalties Although the majority of the game's stages are "cut-free", there may be some specific turns where the optimal racing line is not the intended one. Our team is hard at work identifying all of these and handling corrections in future patches, though you can help speed up this process by flagging any problematic corners to us for investigation. If you come across an exploitable corner, make a post in this thread by following these steps: Go to Racenet.com, then to Analysis. Choose the stage and car class where the exploitable corner was seen. Choose the player on the Leaderboard who is showing off the exploit (if you found it, select your leaderboard entry). Screenshot the section where the corner-cut has taken place. The stage name and progress bar must both be visible as these help the team identify the corner that needs amending. If you have video footage, that can also help, but Racenet data is the best source. Here is an example of how to report a corner. As you can see it's very simple, just need stage, country and a Racenet screenshot, nothing more.
Screen Tearing PS5 Patch 1.4

Start of a course often without and then steady rise of screen tearing. Also starts tearing in menu when move camera and also during stage select screen which wasn't present like that on 1.3 yet. How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%) Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Start courses like oceana, drive a bit and notice screen tear rise. Before and after races during next stage, move camera when car is shown. Screen starts tearing there. During create own championship and select more stages, screen starts to tear when go left and right during location selection screen. Usually happens when select more than 1 stage. What happens when the bug occurs? Screen tears apart most in upper screen What do you expect to see? Expected no screen tear after patch 1.4. Now after played much with new patch, expecting screen tear a few km into the stage and expect it happen during every stage. Fix would be nice to see. 
Update 2.1.0 the game crashes to desktop at launch at the EA Logo intro

Game files missing or corrupt
Product: EA SPORTS™ WRC Platform:Steam-PC Summarize your bug The game will randomly crash due to an error stating Game files are missing or corrupt. I have attempted to re-install the game, verify integrity of the files and moved the game to different drives. All of these result in the same error. How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%) Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Start the game and attempt to start a time-trial, rally or anything other than the menu. What happens when the bug occurs? The game stops. What do you expect to see? The game working. The game will randomly crash due to an error stating Game files are missing or corrupt. I have attempted to re-install the game, verify integrity of the files and moved the game to different drives. All of these result in the same error.
Stuttering frequently on highest and lowest settings.
Will a shader compilation process be implemented soon? It's the one thing that may have an immediate impact, at least with the shader cache stutters common for most DX12 games that do not have a pre-compilation. Wild to force DX12 and not ship with that sort of thing these days. Oof. Was really hoping this would be a Lies of P situation where they did the work and the DX12+UE4 combo runs silky smooth, but even when doing a solid 60fps most of the time in WRC, still getting hit with these random harsh frame time spikes which can easily ruin a run:
Failed to Connect (EA WRC)
Whenever I try to join a quick play multiplayer game lobby I get the error message: ”Unable to connect to game server” Error code: 1040 I’ve been able to join clubs and have had no error messages when booting up the game (when it connects to the EA servers, I get no error message and it just continues to the main game) Platform: PS5 Update: This error actually only occurs when connecting via my University's Wifi Network via an Ethernet cable. I remember I actually joined a lobby when connected to my home's wifi network wirelessly and it connected me successfully. That's just some more information for you guys to hopefully diagnose this issue.
Career mode AI difficulty drops off mid event
I'm playing Career on the long event setting, which I'm loving. It took a while to find an AI difficulty that works, but now I have it's great. Unfortunately, there are 1-2 stages each event where I suddenly win by 2+ minutes, making the overall event difficulty minimal. I think this may be due to how the AI handle tyre wear or something? It's ruining the fun of career mode when a close battle suddenly becomes a dominant win.Road textures from cockpit view way too bright

Drive Mexico, Croatia in Time Trial mode in cockpit view. What happens when the bug occurs? Road textures too bright. What do you expect to see? Fix Auto exposure setting. The Logitech Driving Force Shifter is not being recognised when playing EAWRC on XBox Series X. Using it in conjunction with G923 wheel and pedals. Doesn't recognise any inputs from shifter and, when I try to change the bindings, the game sees no input when I move the shifter.
