Career mode AI difficulty drops off mid event
I'm playing Career on the long event setting, which I'm loving. It took a while to find an AI difficulty that works, but now I have it's great. Unfortunately, there are 1-2 stages each event where I suddenly win by 2+ minutes, making the overall event difficulty minimal. I think this may be due to how the AI handle tyre wear or something? It's ruining the fun of career mode when a close battle suddenly becomes a dominant win.4.9KViews49likes84CommentsRoad textures from cockpit view way too bright

Happened to all of my tunes including WRC1 (GR Yaris), WRC 2 (C3 / I20), Early 2000 (Citroen C4), 2017 WRC (VW Polo) and more Cars. Again, this isn't the game resetting the tune to default, All Sliders are either far left, or right, with Toe Angle being the only exception going back to the default of 0 degrees.Solved1.7KViews21likes36CommentsStuttering frequently on highest and lowest settings.
Will a shader compilation process be implemented soon? It's the one thing that may have an immediate impact, at least with the shader cache stutters common for most DX12 games that do not have a pre-compilation. Wild to force DX12 and not ship with that sort of thing these days. Oof. Was really hoping this would be a Lies of P situation where they did the work and the DX12+UE4 combo runs silky smooth, but even when doing a solid 60fps most of the time in WRC, still getting hit with these random harsh frame time spikes which can easily ruin a run:pyide_maybe2 years agoNew Veteran6.1KViews20likes67CommentsNo shader pre-caching occurring, roadside objects now need caching upon contact
Product: EA SPORTS™ WRC Platform:Steam-PC Summarize your bug Shader pre-caching is not operational, roadside objects need 'touching' to be cached, causing a stutter the first time you touch all different types. How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%) Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Clear shader cache using windows disk cleanup, or updating graphics driver. Drive any stage, caching will occur when driving the stage, BUT ALSO when touching road-side objects, causing the same stutter/frame hitch as regular stage driving does. Stage-side hitching no longer occurs after you have touched all shader types with the car - it does not matter if you touch it with the rear of your car when not visible in bonnet cam, or with the front where you can see it touch the object. Trees, objects, armcos, all the different types, need to be touched in order for it to cache (and therefore not hitch when you next touch that object/shader type. What happens when the bug occurs? Frame hitching or stuttering whilst the shader is cached. What do you expect to see? Shader pre-caching to occur in the menus before stage launch. I ran the first monte stage as a baseline, with a graph to show fps drops. Then, for the first time since september, i cleared my shader cache, by upgrading the graphics drivers. I loaded the game, sat on the 'press enter' screen for a minute, then sat on the main menu for a couple of minutes, no messages were seen. Loaded the same stage in monte and experienced the usual shader caching stutters with the associated frame drops. The stage-side object caching appears to be new, as of the 1.3 patch, but unlike the other shaders, require the car to contact to then get cached - i'm assuming this is due to the effect that happens during a collision, important to note you do not need to see the collision/contact from your camera view, in order for the game to cache it.Solved894Views20likes4CommentsCar repair in Clubs without Service

Product: EA SPORTS™ WRC Platform:Steam-PC Summarize your bug The shader precompilation is process still absent as of the 1.3.0 update (Steam version.) How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%) Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? 1) Install Nvidia drivers with the "clean" setting to ensure shader caches are cleared (I assume this would work with AMD GPUs as well but I only have one PC with an Nvidia card, so...) 2) Start WRC, spam key/button to check for a "shader compilation is in process" message which I was told by a developer should appear if skipped before complete - none should appear as was suggested it would 3) Drive any stage and observe initial shader compilation stutter for various shaders like particle FX, mesh deformation from crashing into things, etc. What happens when the bug occurs? Short stutters from shader compilation (until all shaders have been compiled in realtime during the course of an hour or two of gameplay.) What do you expect to see? Shader compilation should occur when the game is loaded - if no compiled shaders are found, there should be a message and UI (e.g. a progress bar) to let the user know the process is being completed. If shaders HAVE been compiled, then there should be no stutters each time specific shaders are called for by the game in realtime. Nothing to add over the normal bug report fields, other than a link to a video on Youtube I uploaded - this is *immediately* after a fresh Nvidia driver install, so if any shader precomp process is implemented, I should have seen either a message alerting me to the process, OR I should have NOT seen shader compilation stutters during the stages: WRC shader precomp test - YouTube If need be I can do all this over again (driver install etc) while also using an overlay tool like SpecialK that has a useful framepacing graph, just in case someone viewing the video has trouble "perceiving" the stutters.Solved1.7KViews14likes10CommentsInformation Regarding Career Mode Crashes & AI Performance
Hello players, Following the v1.4.0 update to EA SPORTS™ WRC, an unforeseen issue with Career Mode has occurred that is affecting a number of players. Please see below for further information and what we are doing to resolve it for you all. What happened: The v1.4.0 update was released. This update added Central European Rally to the game. Central European Rally was also added to Career Mode, both as part of the WRC class, and across several other Championships and Events in Career. The addition of Central European Rally caused a mismatch in the game code with a specific set of Benefactor objectives. Affected players will experience a 100% crash rate if their Career Mode save features these specific objectives. How are players affected: Career Mode contains hundreds of combinations of Benefactor objectives, specifying which Events and Championships the player must compete in as progression targets. These Benefactor objectives are randomly assigned to players at the start of each Career Mode Season. Players who have specific combinations of these Benefactor objectives will experience a game crash if they attempt to continue their Career. Players who have not started Career, or start a new Career are not affected in Career Mode Season 1. Some players may be able to load a Career Mode save without any issue, though this cannot be predicted in advance. Players who are currently in Career Mode Season 2 and beyond in WRC2 and Junior WRC are at risk of a crash if they attempt to continue their career. Players who are currently in Career Mode Season 2 and beyond in WRC are also at risk, and players in Season 3 and beyond are at a higher risk. If a player has experienced this crash, there is a chance that their Career Mode progress has been lost with no ability to recover. How players can mitigate the issue: If a player has an active Career Mode save, we are advising all players to avoid playing in Career until an update is released. With the hotfix we are aiming to restore existing Career Mode Saves for those that do not start a new Career. If a player wishes to start a new Career, they can do so without being affected by this issue, however their previous save will be permanently lost. How we are fixing the issue: This issue is the #1 priority for our team as regards fixes and updates. However, as this is a complicated and delicate issue that affects save games, we do not wish to rush a quick fix, and inadvertently cause further issues down the line. With this hotfix we are also aiming to recover lost Career Mode saves for those that do not start a new Career. The aim is to have a hotfix ready as soon as possible. What else will be in the hotfix: The primary goal of the hotfix will be to resolve the issues causing Career Mode to crash for players. In addition, we believe we have found a fix for the commonly-reported “inconsistent AI performance when resuming an Event” issue. We plan to implement this AI change into the hotfix as well, thank you for your recent reports which have helped us to potentially diagnose the root cause. Finally, we plan to implement a fix to the track limits issue reported on Rally Chile stages, which arose after the v1.4.0 update was released. When will a hotfix be released: Due to the complexity of the Career Mode issue, the action required to resolve it, and the time required for testing and certification, we aim to be in a position to issue a hotfix on all platforms in mid January.EA_Groguet2 years agoCommunity Manager15KViews13likes0CommentsLate co-driver calls

Product: EA SPORTS™ WRC Platform:PC Summarize your bug So on the day of release for the early access of the game, I set myself up and played for the day on my proper racing rig, using a Moza R9 wheelbase and a set of Heusinkveld Sprint pedals to play the game. After a bit of fixing of the inputs XML file to get the FFB to work, everything worked flawlessly. I had a great day playing. For context, during this time I had all the assists turned off as I am a reasonably experienced rally game player, and simracer, and it worked perfectly fine. For today, I fired the game up from my work desk, as like usual I don't have the time to set up my rig properly to play the same way as previously. This time I attempted to play the game using my XBox One Controller, which I simply plugged in and left the controller settings as default. Now, despite still being all turned off in the menu, the game seems to be activating all of the driver assists, most notably the automatic throttle lift, meaning despite me holding down the throttle to try and go fast the game is preventing me from doing it a lot to try and help me keep control. It makes the game borderline unplayable, costing me around a minute of time per stage completed. I've heard through a friend that at least one other person has encountered this bug as well, but have no idea what is causing it and how to reproduce it. How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%) Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I don't know what specifically is causing it, but I've tried to detail the process I've had with setting up the game up until now, and would be willing to answer any further questions to help try and reproduce the bug so it can be fixed. What happens when the bug occurs? The driver assists are being activated and working, despite being turned off in the settings because I do not want them. What do you expect to see? The driver assists be turned off when I've turned them off. I put "the bug occurs 100% of the time", since at the moment I can't get it to not happen, but it wasn't happening before when I played on the early access release date... Apologies if some information might be in the wrong field. Thank you for the work you've all put into this game, I do really enjoy it when it's working properly.1.4KViews11likes12CommentsPoor performance and low GPU usage.
I have a i7-8086k, an RTX 4070, 32GB and the game installed on an NVMe Samsung 970. The GPU is not used at 100%, it always runs around 45~65% usage and there is not bottlenecking cuz the CPU Usage is around the 25~30%. There is not bottle neck. There is a lot of stuttering and osten FPS drops below 60FPS due to low GPU usage. I have not issues with other games, only with EA Sports WRC. I have tried all settings and always happens the same. Really bad optimization. Please fix the optimization. Best regards.2.4KViews11likes24CommentsService repairing penalty doesn't count in clubs mode
