[PC] Importing a save file from Mass Effect 1
This guide applies to the original release, not the Legendary Edition. Since the release of the trilogy edition, many people have asked how to import save files from ME1. Finding the configuration utility MassEffect2Config.exe is located in the Binaries folder in the game's installation directory. If you installed the game from the EA app, the default location will be C:\Program Files\EA Games\Mass Effect 2\Binaries. If you have multiple disks, it might not be on the C drive. There is also a Binaries folder in the Documents directory, but that's the wrong one. Locating the ME1 save folder Open MassEffect2Config and go to 'Save Games'. Then click 'Copy Mass Effect 1 Save Games'. You then have to locate the folder with ME1 saves. The default location is Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect\Save. Select the folder and click OK. It doesn't appear as if anything happened at all, but it should be fine now. Start ME2, and you will be able to import your save file from ME1. Mass Effect 3 doesn't require these steps.SolvedFred_vdp12 years agoHero+431KViews137likes164CommentsGame fails to load, "Failed to initialize the physics system."
I recently purchased Mass Effect 3 and it won't even load. I keep getting the message, "Failed to initialize the physics system. Please ensure you have an updated version of the PhysX System Software installed." I've got the latest drivers and I have a NVidia Gforce GTX 650 graphics card. Is there any reason why this is occuring, and how can it be fixed?Solved193KViews19likes71Comments[PC] Mass Effect Won't Start - A New Solution

In order to play Mass Effect 1 on Windows 7 or Windows 8, please patch your game to the latest patch. You can check the file "MassEffect.exe" and make sure that it's dated July 17, 2009, or later. If it's older, you can download patch 1.02 here: http://static.cdn.ea.com/bioware/u/f/eagames/bioware/masseffect/updates/MassEffect_EFIGS_1.02.exe If you get the error message "Mass Effect not found ...", please run Origin as admin. To do that close your Origin client if it is already running. Right-click on the Origin icon on your desktop and choose "Run as administrator" to start your Origin client. (Thanks mnercurial303 for this information.) If you still get "Mass Effect not found ...", follow these steps: 1. Open "Notepad" (or any other text editor.) 2. Do a "File -> Save". 3. Name the (empty) file "MassEffectLauncher". 4. Close the file. 5. Open "Windows File Explorer" and rename the file from "MassEffectLauncher.txt", to "MassEffectLauncher.exe" 6. Copy the file "MassEffectLauncher.exe" to the game's root program folder ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect\"). 7. Run the 1.02 patch.EA_Spectre13 years agoCommunity Admin175KViews57likes0Comments[Solved] [PC] Kasumi: Stolen Memory DLC Crashing at the end of loyalty mission.
The ME2 DLC Kasumi: Stolen Memory is crashing at the end of the loyalty mission. I have no trouble doing the mission itself, but when I get to the mission summary and want to press [EXIT] the screen goes black (not blank) and it crashes to desktop, everytime at the same place. I checked on the old board for any solutions and it seems they found 1, but it isn't working for me. Old board thread of the problem: http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/106/index/2452757/1. I've tried everything that thread suggested and even the "add parameter" fix didn't work. They seemed to think that the problem was that the game was trying to use a loading screen that wasn't there. So my next step is trying to replace that loading screen with another one. Though I think it won't work. I've contacted the Support but the problem was forwarded to the game specialists, they would look into the problem. But that can take years, especially since this problem was noticed 3 years ago and still no official fix of the problem. Now I am trying to get some attention here so we can hopefully fix this problem (somehow) otherwise hope I can get my money back, don't want to pay for anything that wont work. There is another thread that posted the same problem, but not much attention to it. Game won't launch after using frosty mod manager
So the game was working perfectly fine and I decided to try some mods. Installed the frosty mod manager got about 8 or so mods and tried to launch, and the game never popped up on the screen. In origin the play button was invisible though and activation ui.exe was in the task manager. I've already tried everything like repairing game, deleting exes and then repairing, safe boot, etc. The only thing that seemed to work was reinstalling the game. I really want to play with the mods and I'm really confused why the game won't work after using the mod managerSolvedAnonymous8 years ago155KViews8likes40CommentsCan I play my game without Origin being involved?
I've seen this launcher format before, it's a nice tool for you guys to try to sell me other games, BUT in the middle of gameplay (Mass Effect 3) the game suddenly closes with a message saying it's an Origin issue (Origin's not working or connected or something like that). If I've downloaded this single player game information, why do I have to be connected to anything? If the issue is with Origin and not my game, can I get rid of the damned thing and continue my gameplay please?SolvedAnonymous12 years ago153KViews10likes18CommentsOrigin download stuck on preparing

Hello I would like to purchase the Mass Effect Trilogy Edition for PC. But I want to get ALL the DLC. Their is alot so I wanted to make sure I get the most of my money. I found out that in the pack ME1 has all the DLC, ME2 has no DLC included, and ME3 you have to pay for the upgrade which is $10. I wanted to pay for the upgrade for ME2 if their is any. I find it strange how ME2 has no Upgrade to included all the DLC. Can someone tell me how to get all the DLC or anyone else sells like on amazon etc. Thank You116KViews18likes16CommentsMass Effect 2 - Physx error

Hello, is there any way to enable support on this game for an xbox 360 controller? I've just started using Origin this weekend. Banner Saga and Mirror's Edge 1 picked up the controller perfectly. Mass Effect doesn't seem to support controller input. Is there any way to bypass this? Does motionjoy work with Origin? I think I've heard that program enables games to support controllers.SolvedAnonymous8 years ago104KViews1like9CommentsMouse cursor gets stuck in the center of the screen. UI bug.

What was the EA Online Pass? Online Pass was a unique, one-time-use code included with new EA games that allowed EA players to access online features. If the game was not purchased new, the online pass code might have been used already and the player would need to purchase a new Online Pass. Do I still need an Online Pass to play multiplayer games online? For new EA titles, Online Pass will no longer be needed or included. Additionally, we are in the process of eliminating Online Pass requirements from existing EA games. This process will take several weeks. For some games, the prompt to enter an Online Pass code will no longer appear; for others, you will still need to download and install an Online Pass, but they will be available free of charge from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace or PlayStation Store. When will specific games have their Online Pass turned off? The latest releases of EA SPORTS games are the first. Over the next several weeks, Online Pass will either be removed completely, or will be available for free in the PlayStation Store and Xbox LIVE Marketplace. Please note that our advisors will not be able to provide you an Online Pass code before that game's pass requirements are disabled. We appreciate your patience. Why did we decide to do this? We listened to the feedback from players, and decided to do away with Online Pass. We hope that eliminating Online Pass will allow more people to play and enjoy EA games for a long time to come. (Update) For more information on DLC for Classic EA games please check out our help article: Download and buy DLC for classic EA games on PC What does that mean for Mass Effect 2? You will be able to download the Cerberus Network code with all its additional downloads like Zaeed or the Firewalker Pack for free in the PlayStation Store, Xbox LIVE Marketplace, and here on the BioWare Social Network.EA_Spectre12 years agoCommunity Admin88KViews87likes0CommentsWindows blocked our attempt to download game content
Not very recently I've had a problem with origin not being able to update the only game I play, the only reason i use origin. When I open up origin the first thing that pops up is "Oops… Windows blocked our attempt to download game content. If you'd like to allow Origin to download content to your computer, select "Retry" below. When prompted, grant permission within the User Account Control pop-up." With a button that says 'Retry' and 'cancel.' I don't understand what exactly happens after i press "Retry," because i don't see any notifications or pop ups. I've tried many stuff already, Completely clean booting my computer, Reinstalling, Log out of my account and back in, and checking other forums, but all of the other forums was from 2014 or before and i figured that may be one of the issues on why those forums don't work out. And most of the steps they tell me to do usually uses Windows 7, 8, 10, etc. but i have a Windows 8.1. Please help, I've had so many problems I can't count from Origin, but this one is the most consistent and the one that would probably make me believe that Origin won't ever work again, and that i wasted 80$ on Origin, which does make me bummed.Solved85KViews7likes108Comments
