It sounds like some progress was made. Can you tell me how it's acting glitchy?
I think the glitchy part may have just been due to starting right after moving things. I got on this evening and have been playing for about 3hrs just fine. No glitching behavior or any funny business. So I set her up to do a Reno and saved right before as always so I don't lose my progress. She went to the house, talked to each of the people and about 3mins into it, it shut down and went to the main menu.
Perhaps it's specifically with this pack since its only happening with it? Should I uninstall the pack and reinstall? Or would that help?
So I uninstalled and reinstalled that particular pack and made sure it was only installed on the internal memory. Went back in to play and got as far as to take the before pictures and it closed out. I am so frustrated now. I am completely lost on what else to do here.

Hi again, @Cuddles0069.
Sorry for the late response. I was out of the office for the last few days. Would you be able to completely uninstall and reinstall the game and add-ons?
I seen that there was an update today and read everything they did which was a whole lot! Oh man! Adds and patches galore 🥰 so I figured I'd give it a try just to see what would happen. Minor issues but nothing I can't live with as long as it fixed this issue and I can play this pack. Did an entire gig with no issues and it did not glitch out and go back to the main menu. 🥳 I'm not sure if something they did on one of these patches fixed this or if it was just luck but I'll take it! For now though I'll continue to see what happens. If anything further I'll come back. I really appreciate all your help and time in this matter.

Great! I'm really glad to hear that! We'll be here if this or anything else comes up again. Good luck and happy simming 🙂 Is there someone I can call to get more in depth assistance for this? It all ended up getting so bad I couldn't travel out do anything too fast or it would shut down so I stopped playing and ordered an Xbox series S. I have that now and transferred everything over. It didn't take long and it began glitching out and going to the home screen. I did figure out how to do screen videos or whatever but it won't do it if I'm on the home screen, only on games so I can't catch it. Anyways, I did as you suggested and uninstalled the game and then went to the store to reinstall it fresh. Then I went back and did a batch process and added all the packs back in. I played for a couple hours and all was fine. Today I get on and start building and after all my work was done, I saved and it shut down. 🤦♀️ I have yet to get it to run correctly since then. I did a restart on the console and when I came back in to the game, it froze on the loading screen. No bar at the bottom but the words were switching at the bottom. I closed that out and went in again and tried a start new and recorded a video and it froze. I don't understand why my hand is doing this but it's making me very upset. I've spent so much time and money to lose everything and I feel lost. I can't find anything online or a number to get ahold of anyone for assistance so I don't know what else to do.

Hi again, @Cuddles0069.
I'm really sorry you're still having so much trouble with this. There are multiple ways to reach our support. You can open a case here and request a callback or start a chat. Also, you can message @EAHelp through Twitter or use our contact our support team through Facebook here.
As far as this issue goes, while the game is loading, try changing your Network Settings to offline. Let me know if that makes a difference or not.
@Cuddles0069Hi, dunno if you know this? But Xbox has the option to clear the Cache of Blu-ray discs including disk-tray cache for internal games via CD...
But anyway on Xbox it is found via settings >>>Devices and connections>>> Blu-ray and within that submenu there's an option for Persistent Storage. Once you click on Persistent Storage it will ask you if you wish to Clear the Cache for it. Click Yes. This helps immensely if your game starts to act up or refuses to run via the disc. For crashes we do a "power cycle" and sign out of Xbox Profile entirely, clear cache. Power cycle again. Then "manage game and add ons" and delete the Reserve Space* (usually around 250MB) for The Sims 4. And this fixed all the crash to dashboard issues I was having at the time. It's my go-to solution for when certain games crash suddenly.
I Hope your issues will be sorted out very soon! 🤗💙
@Cuddles0069Ah I just seen this. So you've got a Fresh new console. And a nice one too! Congrats. But sorry again to see that you are experiencing these headaches relating to game lag. Unfortunately, it has affected A Lot of Us on Xbox and PS4 consoles in general. I game on the new Series X myself. I'm part of a group of Simmers who play the sims 4 on console, we all use the Discord app. There's hundreds of people experiencing these same, persistent and annoying hiccups and some even have stated that the new EP and patch broke their game saves completely! (I lost a few which became corrupted and said "system error" when it tried but failed to load up) ...So, take solace in the fact you're not alone, and hope that soon the team will address and send out a Hotfix for it! I hope you have other fun games to play on your new console in the meanwhile! 💙🤗
Thank you both for your continued concern, it really is greatly appreciated. As I keep feeling as if it's some dumb thing I am causing myself, in just trying hard to figure out what I can do to correct my errors. Not sure the beginning part was but this one may have been. Upon getting my new system, I did just transfer everything so I think I may have just moved the problem over. So I took it away and redid it all. Although more issues happened. After thinking today I realized I am still technically still on both Xbox's and all packs are on both. Maybe that may be the issue(?) So I uninstalled everything from both of them and then reinstalled directly from the store only on the new one. However, I can not log my account out of the other Xbox since my kids pay for their own XBox live on my account. I also seen that I needed to switch the S to my current "home XBox" so I did that as well. I have now been playing for about 4 hours and no issues yet. 🤞 I did go offline as well as suggested. Other than the gallery or the store I'm not sure why you'd need the internet anyways. My girls are still wanting to use the cd version on their Xbox so I will try the clearing cashé as you suggested since I never knew how to do that, thank you. So once again hopefully this will help. I do have discord, is this an open group you all are in? I was looking at the version x but they were out of stock everywhere and I only play this game so I'm OK with this. Thanks again to you both.
Just wanted to note, it didn't work. I did the reset (cache). I'll open a chat tomorrow. Uhg... 🤷🏼♀️
I've got crashing too since the most recent update with colour swatch additions. I had to upgrade to Xbox series S about 6 months ago as it was crashing on Xbox one, but worse I was losing everything to save error code 22.
Now it's suddenly crashing to home on Save and Exit. Then it's doing a data synch when I login the next day. For me it's more annoying than anything especially on top of all the other bugs in my game. I know the team is looking at these things but every time there is an update I'm scrolling through it for some of the major issues in my game and left disappointed. Colour swatches could have waited in my opinion, there are major issues affecting gameplay that need addressing. I do love this game. I've played every incarnation since day one on PS, PC and Xbox. I've never spent so much time whinging about it as I have this year though.
- @simsplayer818 I've stopped playing completely now as it's been going on for about 2 years now for myself. Raised it countless times but nothing seems to be happening with a fix.
Maybe some of the trouble shooting methods from other players might be able to make the game abit more playable but sorry to say once this happens it will continue and it will be a continuous crash.
Its disheartening to say after all the money we've spent and we can't even play the game. This is becoming increasingly unplayable, crashing 3 times in 4 hrs gameplay and yesterday it took me about 20 minutes just to load it up again. On my new Xbox series S it usually takes less than a minute.
I cleared some saved data, did a data synch and it still made no difference. Today I'm going to uninstall and reinstall.
It's becoming less entertainment and more of a hassle just getting the thing to work. After over 1k spent on content and console I'm rapidly losing faith in a game I've played since day one Sims 1.
This was billed as a breakout season of content. I keep reading articles about exciting things to happen...guys we just want it to work. Right now I'm throwing good money after bad and I could kick myself for buying 2 new packs. New additions can wait, stability needs to be the first priority, some fundamental issues need addressing. Of the over 50 glitches and bugs in my game right now (mostly starting in 2021) crashing, for me is unforgivable.
- @simsplayer818 I feel the same way... I enjoyed playing didn't mind buying the additional packs but once the issues started it felt as though as they didn't care about the actual game play aslong as they could bring out new content and make more money.. We was just pushed aside like we haven't just spent £100s on content even upgraded consoles to see if it was the older consoles not being able to keep up with all the content ect but it's generally a bug or something within the game causing this to happen I've gone beyond the point of even trying now I've contacted numerous advisors from Microsoft they all come with the same solution... There's no direct contact to ea/maxis so it's near to impossible to make them fully aware of these issues... Guides on here have stated that they are working on the issues but I've had them since mid 2018 I think or 2019 I can't remember but it's whenever I made this post lol. Still though we aren't valued enough for a fix...
- @helenajade863 I crashed just on Exit yesterday so the main thing for me is to save my game and back it up before hitting exit. I'm going to leave the cottage living area again today and start a new fam in a different area to see if it helps but I'm having to leave the city alone too, just like I had to leave the snowy escape towns for stability problems too for a while. To get a new pack with so much promise that's so beautifully made...and yet so buggy, it's beyond annoying. I wish they'd just pick their release date then scratch it and add another couple of months beta testing just to be sure. I'll leave it a few months before buying new packs in future. It feels like we are guinea pigs helping them work the bugs out ourselves and while I understand there will always be an element of that, I think this year, maybe last year too it's been a bit much.
I've found base game worlds a little easier to work on, redeveloping Newcrest for example as I'd lost it all when I lost my game. Soon as I returned to cottage living it started again. So I'm going to Newcrest today I guess lol.
I don't like to sound so negative and I can see that some love goes into the creations so if we could just get these big things right is all we are asking. I don't want to buy something that's broken already. - EricaMims20204 years agoSeasoned Veteran
I feel the same way to. I am now finding other things to occupy my time. It has got to the point where I didn't play it for weeks. They don't value us at all. They don't care. The more money they make the less they will do.
