Re: Sims 4 corrupting internal hardrive ( I need Advice)

@TheMelodyPheles  Sims 4 should not corrupt a hard drive, and if it could do that on its own, we'd see a lot more reports.  What's more likely is that the hard drive was already dying, and installing the game hastened its demise.

If you install Sims 4 on this hard drive and it dies too, then the hard drive is defective, and it's actually a good thing to find out now, while it's still under warranty.  But like I said, that absolutely shouldn't happen.

  • @puzzlezaddict so now memory is being taken over by the sims and causes it to crash before we even load up .

@TheMelodyPheles  There's nothing in a dxdiag that could be used to identify you or your computer, unless you happened to pick a really specific machine name.  (You can delete that if you want; it's right at the top of the dxdiag.)  If you're not willing to post the info, then no one here can help you: without something to go on, we'd all be guessing and almost certainly wasting our and your time.

The other alternative is to take the computer to a shop and get it tested by a professional.

@TheMelodyPheles  Try installing a new driver for your graphics card.  The one you currently have installed is from 2010, so even this quite old one from 2016 may work better.

    https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/110262/en-us

If the game crashes again, please post the same info you did here:

    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/Sims-4-corrupting-internal-hardrive-I-need-Advice/m-p/10395990#M216547

By the way, that's an access violation, a very common error that's not necessarily a sign of anything wrong with your system overall.  It is for example the kind of crash you might see if a corrupt or outdated mod prevented the game from loading properly.
