Can't believe they did it, finally they solved the smurfing problems in rank, with this new system there is absolutely no reason to smurf at all! You can'T! It detects your skill level with hiddent MMR and matches youwith other similar MMR player very very quickly.Plus it uses a 10 game start to get you at your level. Awesome! Can't wait to see if it delivers for real. Just wondering what's gonna want to keep us play that for 3 months with no split.

@r1ggedgame I’m in full agreement regarding transparency.A ranked system with tight matchmaking would be great for everyone. But like you said, hidden systems will typically always result in people feeling cheated/manipulated.Every community has bad apples (people who will cheat or exploit), but there are far more good people who just want to see where they are within the system.

If they get downed immediately the awesome new super good MM will give them a easier match next game. Ranked becomes more exploitable to kill the casual player base.GGs. I have a hard time believing that stuff, with all the history.People not complaining since yesterday but years and what did they do ... make it worse and after that even more worse (S12+). Hidden MMR always will fuel the speculation on Respawn manipulating the numbers to their liking to favor certain players or give disadvantages to others.It has a reason why we call for transparency, which isnt met until today. Other games have the Skillrating visible to everyone and i dont hear of widespread abuse (which is the general excuse they tell you why they made it hidden ...) over there.Also " further focus on playing the Battle Royal and playing as a team." -> removing octane would help a lot , 99% of the octanes i got in MM weren't teamplayers. And i get reminded every time the MM decides to give me one

On the other hand, knowing that they can get an accurate read on a player's skill in ten matches (or probably less) shows how utterly pointless the typical rank grind really is. Of course, people should have known that all along, probably DID know that all along, and continue to miserably grind away anyhow, so joke's on them I guess. Unless people really do find generally tighter matchmaking in ranked, or more like-minded squadmates. I never found either, but I'm probably an outlier in this as in so many other things.

This might be true if hidden mmr was based exclusively on the first ten matches, but I'm sure it will continue to evolve over time. @r1ggedgame The big difference is they listened to Pros for Rank 2.0 which are 0.01% of the player base. Of course it would end up being a disaster.

With this its like they finally listened to me the average player.

I agree the MMR should be visible. Could be at least a stat at the end of season. This is how you really know if you improved.

@Airish85 Not really it has a ladder to climb and is mostly based on placement rather than kills. Way less hot landing in this mode

@reconzero MMR wont be based on 10 games... it is adjusting all the time. The 10 games are only to get an approximate skill rating for you before the start of the rank season so you get similarly skilled opponents faster.

@Axs5626Sxa5001Yep. There should be 2 skill ratings actually: one for fighting skills: KDR
And one for Br placement: top 3 ratio?

Or Else those hot dropping octanes doing 6 kills and dying top 16 would be matched against low fighting skills players.

No, I get it. It's a constantly moving target, as it should be. But the fact that they can accurately assess ability in ten matches (some other developers used to claim as few as four) tells me that you are what you are, at least for the moment, and that the only reason the seasons are structured as they currently are is to get people to play as much as possible. "At least for the moment" does allow for improvement over time, if that's your jam, but I still believe whole-heartedly that there's a reason they call it a grind, and I'm always surprised at how many people jump into it with enthusiasm when it's such a transparent mechanism of manipulation.
