10+ days of game-breaking FPS drops from June 24 patch. Where are you, Respawn?
Hey everyone,
Just posting an update here because this whole situation is becoming unbearable. It's been over ten days since the disastrous June 24th update, and my copy of Apex Legends is still fundamentally unplayable.
The core problem hasn't changed: the second I turn my camera, my framerate plummets from a buttery-smooth 200+ FPS down to a choppy 50-70 FPS. If I stare at a wall, everything is perfect. The moment I turn to face the action, the game turns into a literal slideshow. Gunfights? That’s a joke. It’s pure torture.
I want to add a few new points to show you guys the full picture of what I've tried and how the official response has been:
- I contacted support immediately. Their response? They gave me the generic, useless "try a Clean Boot" and other copy-paste solutions that I had already done. When I reported back that none of it worked, the support agent turned into a broken record, just feeding me hollow, scripted lines like "we're working on it" and "the issue will be resolved" to brush me off.
- That promise to "resolve it" is just empty words. Ten days have passed with no hotfix, no official acknowledgment, not a single word. They are clearly not taking action, or at least, they aren't telling us they are. This massive performance regression has just been completely ignored.
- We are not isolated cases, but they're choosing to ignore us. I know this bug isn't hitting 100% of the player base, but it's far from an isolated incident. I've seen several threads on Reddit and other forums describing the exact same bizarre FPS drop. People are reporting it, asking for help, and all we get back is baffling silence from the developers.
At this point, this isn't just a technical bug anymore. It's an attitude problem.
- My rig is NOT the problem: I'll say it again. I've spent more than a week troubleshooting—reinstalling Windows, rolling back drivers, and testing every other demanding game I own. They all run perfectly. The issue is 100% with the Apex update.
- Customer support doesn't solve problems: They're just a wall of scripted responses designed to make you go away.
- Community feedback is being thrown into a black hole: Multiple players on multiple platforms are reporting this, and it's met with absolute silence.
It is an infuriating feeling to watch a game you love, that your high-end hardware can obviously handle, be left in a shattered state by its own developers, with no hope for a fix in sight.
We're trapped here, and the people who broke the game are just acting like it's business as usual. It's completely unacceptable.
So, I'll ask again:
- To everyone else dealing with this, how are you holding up?
- How much longer will the devs stay silent before they finally acknowledge this game-breaking bug?
