Just to clarify, the 6-month period is how long you'd have to wait before unlinking the same platform from an EA account. The lifetime portion is relating to a specific EA account. You're only able to link one of each other platform (Xbox, Steam, PlayStation, etc.) to an EA account. If you just linked an Xbox account here, you wouldn't be able to unlink it for 6 months.
Even after that 6 months is up however, you wouldn't be able to attach a different Xbox account as this EA account was already linked to one Xbox account - that's where the lifetime portion comes in.
If you've already spoken with support to see if they have any other options and they weren't able to make any changes, unfortunately we wouldn't be able to make any other changes on the forums either.

You would not be able to link a second Xbox account to the same EA account, even if you remove the first one.
