I'd assume EAC probably dropped support for Win7, causing this mess.
Or are you guys still able to play other EAC protected games?
Windows 7 is still a super reliable OS.
It must me a joke nowadays to support newer versions of Windows but not Windows 7.
But the biggest joke is to give the user an error message saying "Error - There is a problem with your game’s setup. Please reinstall your game"
People are like "What have I done wrong..."Am I too stupid to make this game running?" spending hours to fix this problem...
They just force you to buy a newer OS and a newer Computer without telling you directly.
You just waste time in trying to fix the problem according to their error message.
All in all, its a freaking joke.
Just stop buying products of companies like this and they will soon find out that they made a terrible mistake.
Windows 7 for me as well, game ran fine before this patch though.
I'm launching the game from the EA app and after the rectangle appears with Balistic's pic, I get a pop up error box saying -
error: there is a problem with your game's setup. please reinstall your game.
I have reinstalled it a few times, repaired it, erased the 43.dl file and reinstalled direct x and the different C++ files
Step 1) Update Windows Step
2) Install Media Feature Pack: If you are using N versions of Windows: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/softw... https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/h...
Step 3) Navigate to C:/Windows/System32 and delete d3dcompiler43.dll (Copy the file save it somewhere as a backup) Now visit this Microsoft link to DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer to install missing files: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...
Step 4) Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...
Step 5) Install Visual C++ files from Microsoft website: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/h...
Step 6) Repair the game files in Origin
I have tried these steps's to no avail, via a youtube vid.
Reinstalling the game again right now
I have also tried launching via steam and I got the error you guy's did on this thread.
This is why I dread apex patches lol
Tried everything I could find/think of.
Gave up and finally dropped Windows 7. It worked once I changed to Win 10.
Sad. Win7 has been years and years of faff-free service. I wouldn't have thought I could go 7 years without flushing an OS, but Win7 stayed great the whole time.
Respawn need to update their requirements. And maybe test their requirements before an update and actually tell the community.
- @XHelperZ No other EAC games here, but I get the impression it's not EAC, since EAC always starts up fine and lingers for a while. The self-repair util in EAC reported no issues either.
Upon starting Apex, once the EAC window left, it would wait a moment then pop up the error. In Steam it actually reported error 0xc000000c. Was there an easy way for you to upgrade? I was watching a vid about the free upgrade but I don’t have the hard drive space it said I would need.
Anyone from EA? Can you answer the questions and help? @EA_Mako ?

Hey everyone,
Thanks for the posts, we're taking a look at this.
For those running into this on Windows 7, can we check whether you're attempting to run the DX12 beta for Apex, or is this occurring in DX11?
If you're able to attach a DxDiag file that may help provide a bit more information as well, thanks!
Same here, tried at least 15 different solutions, none worked, I'm on win 7, DX11.
