Hey im having the same issue. I've tried completely uninstalling apex with revo uninstaller, using older nvidia drivers, changing settings, etc. It's gotten really annoying because this just started happening like 2 days ago and before that it was another issue. I just want to play and I can't even que a ranked game because I know my pc will just crash and ill lose points for the game being broken.
I guess, the only thing you can do right now is to just not play Apex Legends for some time (it could be few days, maybe 1-2 weeks, or it could be months or even years). It’s been more than a week already, and basically nothing has been done to fix the bug that not only makes the game unplayable but also has a potential to inflict some serious damage to PC with all this freezing — aka hard crushing — and constant forced reboots to be able to use the PC again. I mean, it’s really good that other annoying bugs are being fixed, but… does it really matter if it’s impossible to play the game for more than 5 minutes before another crush? Apex is one of my favourite games and it pains me to not being able to do anything to enjoy it once again, just like before that awful EAC update was rolled out…
I installed apex on the EA launcher in hopes it would work but it did not. The only time the game has been able to run for a long period of time without crashing my pc was when I had only the game itself running. Usually i play with discord and OperaGX open on my second monitor so Im going to test if it's one of those that's causing the issue. Unfortunately I'm going to have to play a ranked game to replicate the issue. Can't wait to lose more RP from this dumb issue :)
Few days ago I tried running the game again without any other programs, like Chrome, Steam, BattleNet, etc., I even unplugged my headphones! I was hoping that, maybe, one of those things was actually the culprit behind the freezing my PC, but to no avail — the game crashed after 7 or so minutes :/
