Apex hardfreezes my entire PC. Every other game fine.
Legion Pro 5 16ARX8, Ryzen 7 7745HX, RTX 4060 Laptop, 16GB DDR5.
Started 19 Aug. Six-plus full system hangs, all mid-match in Apex.
Not a game crash. The whole machine dies. Caps Lock LED stops
responding, so the kernel is gone, not just the display driver.
No BSOD, no minidump, nothing in WHEA. Only way out is holding
the power button.
Battlefield 6 runs for hours on the same machine. Minecraft fine.
Everything else fine. Only Apex.
Things I've already done, none of which changed anything:
- DDU + clean NVIDIA driver install
- Hybrid to Discrete GPU (MUX switch)
- BIOS updated to latest
- AMD VGA driver from Lenovo
- EasyAntiCheat uninstall/reinstall
- Full uninstall, deleted leftover folders, reinstalled via EA app
instead of Steam
- Steam validated 10232/10232 files
- fps_max 120, then 100
- Borderless window
- Low preset
- Ran on battery only
Lenovo's own hardware diagnostics pass everything: memory (14
tests), CPU, GPU (300s stress + CUDA suite), motherboard, storage.
Extended Windows memory test clean too.
The only forensic trace is a pair of dxgkrnl live kernel dumps at
codes 0x1A8 and 0x1B8, and two more that came back zero-byte.
Specifically looking for anyone on a 7745HX or an RTX 4060 mobile.
If it's this narrow there has to be a pattern. Also happy to hear
if anyone has actually fixed this.
