Audio Issues Since 9-26-2022

I believe this was the first day it started for me. All kinds of sounds, including but not limited to: footsteps, gunshots, teammate communications (pings, ammo requests,etc.), and even the ring closing will have no volume when my in-game character is facing a seemingly arbitrary direction. For instance, in one game when I faced the ring closing in on me, it made no sound. When I turned 90 degrees to the right, I could hear it clear as day. I've never had this issue until around this time frame. It's really frustrating when an entire squad can be breathing down your neck and you don't have a clue because of something like this. Is anyone else having this issue?

Edit: I'm playing through Steam. Haven't tried playing through Origin yet because Origin has had more crashing problems in the past which started with the release of the map Stormpoint.

    Haven't been on since I posted last, I'll watch and try what it says in the video, might help me out too if I'm lucky.

    I actually made a bug report on the issue but no devs have answered, which is kinda dissapointing considering it's a gamebreaking issue, but we'll see how it works after trying what's said in the video!

    @OldTreeCreeper When you get that glitch like we have, it’s impossible to play because you literally cannot hear anything behind. I’ve reinstalled the game multiple times and it did not fix the issue. Also, there hasn’t been any solutions that had been provided by EA. I’ve tried Sonar and did not notice any difference.

    @swift07 others have tried sonar and its worked great, my son as an example.

    Adjusting files gives an unfair advantage, eqing the sounds dosnt.

    @OldTreeCreeper Unfortunately this is not only an issue of "hearing footsteps", it's a literally gamebreaking bug that completely cuts out audio in a 270 degree cone behind you, giving you only audio from straight in front of you (45 degrees to each side). The devs have not done anything to address it, nor said that it's a known issue despite there being more than one bug report on it, as the thread have clearly stated. They haven't even replied that the issue is "being looked at" anywhere I can see.

    When reinstalling does not help, and nothing in the standard game files work, what other options are there???? Keep playing with a broken game and lose because Respawn are too busy cashing in on reskinning stuff in the store for overpriced coins? Me playing with or without headphones is pretty much the same right now, and if you don't think that's a disadvantage I don't know what world you live in.

    The only feeling I get from Respawn atm is that they are either forced by EA to put a majority of their team on microtransaction-related features, or that they themselves have simply stopped caring about the health and state of the game and just want to cash in as much as possible before abandoning ship... The state of the game since S13 is horrible, not even including cheaters, smurfs and other illegal activities in the game.

    It pains me to say it, because this is genuinely the best movement battle royale out there and I really want to keep playing, but I am starting to lose the enjoyment playing a game that is riddled with cheaters, bugs and other gamebreaking *. ☹️

    @LordAwoz it is my son's experience that footsteps are audible behind you, in fact 360 degrees, both up and down using SSS. This implies that all the audio is there, and if footsteps can be brought to the fore, then other sounds that you desire can be too. 

    SSS can diminishe other sounds, but my son dosnt care about them. He uses the SSS apex settings with some of his own adjustments. 

    I don't really consider it gamebraking when somthing like SSS works well on pc. 

    I play on xbox and really have no options like SSS, but the dtx sound settings has really imoroved things, which I'm exploring at the moment in arenas.

    It's a real pity that the visual audio is nowhere near as good as fortnite, which I can happily play with the sound off.

    @OldTreeCreeper I understand what you're saying but it does not give you an advantage, it's literally to fix the audio bug. It doesn't enhance specific sounds or reduce other sounds. My audio used to work fine, then for some reason, I could not hear anything behind me. I've tried searching for solutions, but there was nothing I could find. Funny thing is...the audio is still bad. A lot of times, I don't even hear footsteps lol.
