Automated Punishment With Zero Transparency
Hello everyone. Both my friend and I are long-time EA players, and we have invested significant time and money into Apex Legends. About a week ago, my friend’s EA account was abruptly banned from Apex Legends for alleged misconduct, without warning, explanation, or any supporting evidence. From the very beginning, it was clear that this ban was not properly reviewed. Multiple appeals were submitted, all of which were denied with generic, copy-pasted responses that failed to address any of the details provided. The speed and wording of these replies strongly indicate that no real investigation ever took place. Both my friend and I contacted EA Support and the TOS team directly. Every interaction felt automated. The responses were either clearly AI-generated or pulled from pre-written templates, completely ignoring our questions and the information we submitted. There was zero indication that a human being actually reviewed the account, the gameplay data, or the appeal itself. There is no transparency, no escalation path, and no accountability. EA Support claims there is nothing they can do, the TOS team is unreachable, and there is no supervisor or manager available. In practice, this means players are banned by a system that cannot be questioned, challenged, or reviewed by a real person. This directly contradicts EA’s own statements. The EA Customer Agreement explicitly grants users the right to request a human review of enforcement actions, as outlined in Chapter 15. The EA Help website also claims that both the TOS team and support advisors are real people. Based on our experience, these claims are misleading at best and false at worst. We are documenting and preserving all evidence of these interactions. This includes appeal responses, support chats, and timelines that clearly show a lack of human review. This information will be shared publicly across multiple platforms. The matter will be taken to arbitration, as permitted under the EA Customer Agreement. Should it be determined that EA knowingly misled users or failed to follow its own procedures, this could open the door to further legal consequences, including broader legal action. Players deserve transparency, due process, and actual human oversight — not silent automation and unaccountable systems.
