Hey JibbyJabb,
Sorry to see you've been going in circles on this one for a bit. This particular situation is a bit tricky, but ultimately would require recovering an old account and updating the email.
never had to create an EA account as it was via PSN
To clarify, this wouldn't quite be accurate. Even if you only played on PlayStation, that PSN account would need to be linked to an EA account before you were able to continue. That would only pop up the first time you launched Apex, so if that was done then you really wouldn't have had any reminders the rest of the time you played. If you had ever played any other EA title on PlayStation before that point, it's also possible you were already linked and didn't see the particular prompt pop up at the time. In any case, it's not possible to play Apex without first being linked to an EA account.
This is where the disabled.ea.com account comes into play. There are multiple reasons an EA account could be locked, whether from long periods of inactivity on older accounts or even someone else trying to access the account and having it locked for security purposes until we could verify the owner.
So at this point, you're right that you won't be able to reset the password on a disabled account. It's possible it was previously using one of the other emails you tried, but if that account had been disabled, the email wouldn't be the same of course.
The best bet at this point would be to recover the old account and update the email address to one you can access, but isn't currently in use for another EA account. Support was right in that unlinking the PSN would cause your progress to be lost, as that progress is stored at the EA account level, not on individual platforms - whether PlayStation, Steam, EA app, Xbox, etc.
This also means that if you have two separate EA accounts with your progress - one this currently disabled account where your PSN was linked, and another the more recent EA account you're using for PC - there is unfortunately not a way to transfer or merge that progress. Cross Progression allows you to access the content on an EA account with any platforms linked to that same EA account, but cannot transfer it between EA accounts.
So, if you had more progress back when you were playing on PlayStation (not sure how much progress you've made on PC since), the best option would be to:
- Recover the old account through support (not by unlinking the PSN)
- Have support help update the email
- Sign into that EA account on EA app/Steam
This way you'd be logging into the EA account where that older progress was made and would have access to that same content. As mentioned above however, if you've made substantial progress on PC with the new account and don't want to lose that either, unfortunately you'd just end up with two different accounts that cannot be combined.
