Forced server change?

After launching apex legends i go ahead and choose the south middle eastern server where i get 15ms ping time then when i find a match the network graph shows my ping as 120-150ms?? is apex legends picking a different server for me? whats the point of manually picking servers then? ports are forwarded, connected by an ethernet cable, im using the closest dns server to me, and i already did the troubleshooting steps in the guides. just a note that i do get 15ms or lower in the firing range but in a real match it switches to 120-150. thats why im assuming its picking a different server for me also theres no lag its only high ping so theres a bit of a delay i guess
